Historical fracking opponent Kamala Harris has vowed not to ban the practice of oil drilling amid criticism from the Republican Party.
The vice president and presumptive nominee of the Democratic Party has long opposed fracking, going so far as to say in 2019 that there was “no question” about her position.

However, as Harris relies heavily on swing states to beat GOP nominee and former President Donald Trump, the Democrat has changed her tune.
“There is no doubt that I am in favor of banning fracking,” said aa CNN Town Hall in 2019and added that he had a “history of working on this issue” in California.
However, Harris' anti-fracking viewpoint has extended beyond presidential ambitions. In the same year, he co-sponsored the Green New Deal – a climate change proposal that included a ban on fracking.
“Climate change is real and it's an existential threat to us as human beings, and it's within our power to do something about it,” Harris said while at his first campaign test. “I'm supporting the Green New Deal.”
As the media continues to do debug previous reviews of Harris, Politico stated his stance against fracking as “allegations” and “accusations.”
