Macy’s Promises “Trans-Extravaganza” Thanksgiving Parade | washingtonengager.com

-

Well, if you were looking forward to a traditional, all-American “Thanksgiving Day Parade,” you might want to recalibrate your expectations. Macy’s, in its latest interpretation of awakening, is not giving us pilgrims or turkeys. Instead, they’re throwing a full-blown trans extravaganza.

Radicals at LGBTQ Nation magazine are taking issue with parents’ groups being less than thrilled with the idea of their kids being exposed to more trans-centric content, especially during a classic American holiday.

LGBTQ Nation:

The anti-LGBTQ+ organization One Million Moms (OMM) is morally outraged by the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade.

In an alarmist plea, OMM, an offshoot of the anti-LGBTQ+ American Family Association, warned that the parade will be a “non-binary, transgender extravaganza” that will “expose tens of millions of viewers at home to the liberal agenda LGBTQ.” because this year’s parade will feature music from two Broadway musicals, & Juliet and Shucked, with trans and non-binary performers in major roles.

OMM is asking people to sign a petition telling Macy’s, “I do not agree with the LGBTQ agenda it is pushing on families during the Thanksgiving Day Parade. My family and I will not be watching this indoctrination. Because this event goes against our beliefs and values, Macy’s has left conservative and Christian families with no choice but to avoid the parade and its stores, even during the holiday season. My family does not will support Macy’s – you have lost our trust.”

The group’s website said nearly 15,000 people had signed the petition by Friday.
The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade first took place in 1924, making it the second oldest Thanksgiving Day Parade in the United States; the first oldest is the Detroit Thanksgiving Day Parade. The Macy’s parade typically features large balloons shaped like pop culture cartoon characters, performances by different artists and groups, as well as colorful and festival floats. Commentators covering the parade don’t always mention the LGBTQ+ identities of its most prominent participants.
However, OMM, which has just 105,000 followers on social media, has a habit of kicking itself any time any company publicly acknowledges the existence of queer people.

We hope One Million Moms succeeds and sends a very strong message to Macy’s that we are all sick and tired of having the LGTQ lifestyle thrust upon us at every turn.
