In probably the least surprising news of the week, Liz Cheney is throwing her support behind Republican presidential nominee Nikki Haley, urging her to resist calls to drop out of the race at least until Super Tuesday, a common theme among Mai Trump's resistance.
The disgraced former congresswoman and attack dog of the Jan. 6 committee made her remarks during an appearance on the latest edition of the left-wing podcast “Pod Save America” that aired Friday.
“I hope he stays in the race,” said the mischievous actor. “Whenever I have to, certainly until Super Tuesday. I think we're in a situation where only two states have voted and you've got something like 35 percent, I think, of Republicans who got out of the polls in New Hampshire saying they would never vote for Donald Trump.”

However, Cheney did not formally endorse Haley, perhaps still considering whether she will enter the race herself if things go well for her.
“I have not made a formal endorsement at this time, but I would certainly never again support or vote for Donald Trump,” he added.
Cheney isn't the only one looking to chain the primaries with the transparent hope that something happens to Trump that leaves “Neocon Nikki” as the presumptive Republican nominee. On Friday's edition of MSNBC's “Morning Joe,” co-anchor Mika Brzezinski expressed a similar sentiment.

“Think about it. Nikki Haley lurking around the primaries waiting for a shoe to drop,” Ms. Scarborough said, practically drooling. “Maybe Trump loses a case or just loses his mind thinking about spending the rest of his life in prison.”
“If I were Nikki, I'd hold on too,” she declared.
Then there's Haley's de facto campaign manager, Republican Gov. Chris Sununu of New Hampshire, who couldn't work his open primary magic in his home state but sees plenty of hope for the deeply unpopular candidate among Democrats.
Turned on @thepulseofnh this morning, @GovChrisSununu points out that the SC primary is “even more open” than #FITN.
“In South Carolina, if you're a Democrat, you can just walk in the door and vote. So there's a lot of opportunity there.” @NikkiHaley in #SouthCarolinaPrimary @NHGOP— NH Journal (@NewHampJournal) January 25, 2024
“In South Carolina, if you're a Democrat, you can just walk in the door and vote. So there's a lot of opportunity there,” Sununu said during an interview on “The Pulse of New Hampshire” radio show this week, appearing to give welcome opposition party interference in next month's Palmetto State primary.
“If she can remain competitive, there is an argument for Ms. Haley to stay in the race until the July convention. Mr. Trump faces a treacherous legal path, and one of the cases against him could go to trial. If convicted of a crime, 42 percent of New Hampshire voters and nearly a third of Iowa GOP caucus attendees said Mr. Trump would be unfit for the Presidency,” the Wall Street Journal Editorial Board said. he wrote this week.
“The political odds still favor a Joe Biden-Trump rematch, but strange things can happen with candidates so old and unpopular with most of the public,” the paper said.
It's almost as if they all know something that no one else does.
