Little girl uses baseball bat to help fend off burglar in Minnesota [VIDEO]

A brave 8-year-old girl played a key role frustrating a robbery at his father's Minnesota liquor store when he hit the alleged Amazon worker with a baseball bat, as seen on surveillance video.

Leo, the girl's father and the store clerk, recounted the moment Morrell demanded all the money from the register, recalling, “I told him, 'Yeah, I'll give you everything.' As the clerk worked to get the money, Morrell allegedly tried to break the counter where the girl was standing.

Surveillance footage documented that Leo tackled Morrell forcefully and tackled him to the ground before the daughter intervened. Armed with a bat, she repeatedly struck the suspect while her father restrained him.

Leo was shocked to discover his daughter's actions when he reviewed the surveillance video afterwards. She expressed her pride, saying: “I'm so proud of her, she's so strong,” adding: “I just wanted to cry that day. When I saw the video, I didn't expect her to. Morrell managed to flee the scene but was arrested shortly after. He was charged with attempted aggravated robbery in the first degree, and the weapon in his possession was revealed to be a BB gun, according to police.

In response to the incident, an Amazon spokesperson confirmed that Morrell was employed as a delivery partner for a third-party service and stated that he would be “immediately off-board” following his arrest.

Morrell is currently being held pending his initial court appearance scheduled for Friday. The actions of this brave young woman undoubtedly played a critical role in thwarting the robbery attempt, and her courage and determination are commendable.
