A liberal nonprofit will spend millions to feed information about the Supreme Court to change mothers in the state in an effort to turn them against former President Donald Trump, The Washington Post reported.
Demand Justice, an organization founded to oppose Trump's judicial nominations, will spend $2 million on mobilization efforts and ads in Arizona, North Carolina, Georgia, Nevada, Michigan, Ohio, Montana, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin with the goal of convincing mothers of not supporting the former president, the Post. reported. The campaign will focus on how a Supreme Court made up of Trump appointees could affect issues related to abortion, firearms and health care in the coming years.
“This is about empowering mothers to know exactly the kind of threats the MAGA Supreme Court poses to the well-being of their families,” Demand Justice CEO Maggie Jo Buchanan told the Post. “It's understandable that everyday moms aren't always connected to all the ins and outs of every decision the court issues or every questionable action certain judges take, so we're here to fill that knowledge gap.”
While Democratic politicians and liberal activists criticized the Supreme Court with accusations of partisan bias and ideological extremism, a counting of the judgments of the court this term tells a different story. Approximately 46% of court decisions this term were unanimous, and of the 22 6-3 decisions, only half were decided with a clear ideological divide among the justices.
“This is a court [where] conservatives lose quite a bit,” Texas South Law School professor Josh Blackman previously told the Daily Caller News Foundation. “This is not a right-wing court.”

It's unclear how much money Demand Justice has to sway public opinion ahead of the 2024 election. The nonprofit advocacy arm of the organization it had just $3.3 billion in net assets as of 2022, the most recent year for which tax returns are available, indicating that it has attracted significant funding since then.
Demand Justice PAC, a political committee associated with the nonprofit, had just under $1 million on hand from March and has been mostly expense money in consulting and communications services this cycle, according to Federal Election Commission records.
