Liberal TV host Jon Stewart has called out Democratic Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) for getting rich off decades of “legal corruption.”
The backlash against Pelosi's insider trading scheme, which has made her and her family incredibly rich, has been slowly building for some time.
So much so, that now even other liberals are starting to have one serious problem with Pelosi's intrigues.
Politics is supposed to be acting as a public servant.
However, lawmakers like Pelosi have abused their powers to massively inflate their own personal wealth.
Nasdaq.com reports that Nancy Pelosi has done very well on wages.
However, his hefty salary of $223,500 wouldn't even come close to making his family one of the richest and most influential in the entire country.
Comedian Jon Stewart has long been a favorite of America's liberals, but even he can't ignore the blatant corruption that is allowing Pelosi and her corrupt colleagues to get rich on what assume it's a public service career.
Stewart took issue with the fact that Pelosi and other members of Congress “have insider information” that they have been using for financial gain.
Ordinary Americans don't know what laws will be proposed, voted on, or implemented, so it's difficult to know how U.S. laws will affect the business landscape in order to make an accurate prediction about stock prices.
Pelosi is NOT an ordinary American.
He has information that other Americans simply don't have access to, and he's been using that information for years to make an incredible selection of actions.
Jon Stewart even joked about why Sen. “Gold Bar Bob” Menendez (D-NJ) felt the “need to break the law in such a cartoonish way when legal corruption in the Senate is so lucrative.”
According to CSPAN's Peter Schweizer, the senator's “average” stock portfolio has outperformed the stock market 12% of the time.
Compare that to the average hedge fund, which beats the stock market just 7% of the time.
“How do they do it?” he asked sarcastically.
It was clear that he already knew the answer. We all do:
“The secret is understanding the complex interconnectivity of global markets.
“Just kidding. They have inside information.”
And how can members of Congress avoid prosecution?
It's simple, they take care of themselves.
Why would any MP ever call out their colleagues for corrupt trading when they could do the same and get rich too?
American politicians have had to choose between money and honor.
Jon Stewart says it's no mystery what they chose.
