The New Republic was ravaged by its scandalous front page depicting a former US president as a fascist dictator responsible for the deaths of millions of people.
The left-wing rag was called out on social media as a “clown post” and criticized for “scare-mongering” after showing an image of Trump as Hitler on its latest cover.
“We chose the cover image, based on a well-known Hitler campaign poster from 1932, for a precise reason: that anyone transported to Germany in 1932 could very, very easily have explained Herr Hitler's excesses and have- he became convinced that his critics were going overboard. ”, explains the publication.
“After all, he spent 1932 campaigning, negotiating, giving interviews, being a mostly normal politician. But he and his people promised all along that they would use the tools of democracy to destroy it, and it was only after he was given power that Germany saw the full face of his movement,” he continued.

“Today, at The New Republic, we think we can spend this election year one of two ways. We can spend it debating whether Trump meets the nine or 17 points that define fascism. Or we can spend it saying, 'He's close enough, and it will be better if we fight,'' continued the left winger.
Claiming to have brought together “leading intellectual historians of fascism”, the outlet promised to show readers how a Trump victory in November would lead to Hitler-level fascism.
The series includes a bucket full of articles on fascism and, of course, how Trump and those who support his ideas will lead the nation down the road of no return.
“Why waste time debating the extent of Trump's fascism when we should be fighting it?” asks Michael Tomasky in one piece.
“To speculate about what the future of American culture might look like in a second Trump presidency, we must consider the past: the formative years of New York and the upbringing of Donald Trump himself,” writes Maureen Corrigan in the his article entitled “A Right-wing Counter-hegemony”.
In an article about the “media in a fascist America,” former CNN media correspondent Brian Stelter painted an entirely imaginary scenario of a security breach at the White House on Trump's inauguration day after to be re-elected.
Other articles in the series cover an imaginary fascist America and the effect it will have on education, the military, the frontier, and everyday life.
Social media users slammed the left-wing post and its baffling comparison of Trump to Hitler.
you shock Any attempt to stick the moniker Hitler on anyone is childish, fear-mongering and belittling to those who actually had to live, fight and die during his time.

Total horsesh!ti if anyone is a fascist, it is the writers and owners of this rag “newspaper”. It's good that you try to project your fascist Nazi self onto people who have good common sense and know better.

Did Trump institute fascism when he was president? I must have missed that you idiots.
— Nicola Luccha (@NLuccha) July 7, 2024
The fact that he was already president once puts your thesis on hold, doesn't it?

You are spitting on the graves of 6 million Jews and all those who risked their lives to fight Hitler.
Hate ex-president Teuno all you want, but comparing him to Hitler only diminishes the Holocaust.
Delete it and apologize.
