If you thought UFC champ Sean Strickland was going to be “cancelled” for his controversial press conference comments, the crowd's roar of approval when he doubled down should put it to rest.
After arguing with a reporter about previous comments he had made about the LGBTQ community, Strickland made it clear he stood by his views and vowed to continue his fight for free speech.
“When have you ever seen a UFC champion…defend yourselves guys?” the 32-year-old mixed martial artist asked the crowd.
“I, I, King, I do. I do,” he said, as the audience roared its approval.

One fan even stormed the stage to shake his hand.

“I'm not chasing the Chinese Nike brand. I don't care about that,” he continued. “I care about you. I care that you are free. I care that you have freedom of speech!”
“I love you guys and I'll tell you what, you guys are great,” shouted the UFC middleweight champion to a roar from the crowd.
His rousing speech came after his exchange with a journalist whom he called a “fucking coward”.
“Well, then you're a weak man,” said Strickland. “You're part of the problem. You elected Justin Trudeau. When he took over the bank accounts, like you're pathetic. The fact that you don't have a fucking backbone and while he's shutting down your fucking country and confiscating bank accounts, I ask something stupid like that. Go away yourself. Fuck the man. He was a coward.”

His subsequent comments provoked leftists who wanted to see retractions and consequences.
Podcaster Mike Ryan Ruiz issued a “challenge” during “The Dan Le Batard Show” on ESPN “because this kind of hate is coming through their airwaves.”
“Are you a piece of chicken shit that allows this with impunity?” he demanded. “This is disgusting.”
“This is nonsense that we allow… What are we doing?… I challenge ESPN to make a public statement about this… are you chicken shit?… This is disgusting…”

“If your initial reaction is to defend Sean Strickland after that disgusting display of hate, you really need to evaluate how you got here,” he wrote in a post on X.
I say this as someone who didn't want to bring up this crap because it's toxic hate that shouldn't be integrated. It gives people license to further indoctrinate themselves with hate. To shit, hate and shit to those who proudly enable our constant failures to be decent

Steve Schmidt, founder of the anti-Trump Lincoln Project, declared that Strickland “represents the face of MAGA.”
But Strickland's sentiments resonated with many on social media who told complainers what they could do with their complaints.
I loved it. The man was spitting out plain facts

If you want to be soft and complain about everything, go watch another sport.
Men and women can say whatever they want.

Sean Strickland has better political instincts than 99% of Republicans in Congress

Strong and unapologetic patriot. We need more of this.

I love it when people double down after calling out liberal policies. Sean Strickland would make a great White House Press Secretary!

Sean Strickland has created a “recognize the enemy” moment. Thanks to all those who identify themselves.

We love Strickland for exactly the same reason you want to deplatform him. A better world is coming where a group of loud, annoying people won't be able to write off others because their feelings were hurt.

It's called freedom of speech and he is 100% correct in his comments.
