Left-wing media gloats as DeSantis echoes sentiment to deny 2020 election was stolen: Discern report

As always when we talk about candidates our audience might support, I’m sure I’m going to piss off a lot of people for posting this. Specifically, I’m going to upset Ron DeSantis supporters, but I’m simply reporting two facts.

First, the 2020 presidential election was stolen. Mountains of evidence, videos, impossible statistics and eyewitness affidavits tell us so. Joe Biden has gotten more votes than anyone else, including more black votes than Barack Obama, he tells us. Our common sense tells us so.

Second, Ron DeSantis thinks Joe Biden won fairly. I don’t need to convince anyone of this because he said it himself today. And while I’m surprised and very disappointed by a man I know, a man I generally like, the left-wing media wallows in it like pigs in mud. Here’s Rolling Stone:

RON DESANTIS ACKNOWLEDGED Friday that many of the false claims promoted by former President Donald Trump after the 2020 election were “baseless.”

According to a report by The New York Times, while addressing reporters after a campaign event in Iowa, the Florida governor and presidential hopeful said the “theories that were put out there” after the election defeat of Trump “turned out not to be true.”

“It wasn’t an election that went the way I think we want, but that’s different than saying Maduro stole votes or something like that,” DeSantis added. “Those theories, you know, turned out to be unfounded.”

With DeSantis flopping in the polls, this could be a campaign ploy to differentiate himself from Donald Trump. I’m not sure how effective this move is, but it has been proposed. I think this is a huge mistake, not just because I obviously and vehemently believe that the election was stolen, but because it’s a talking point that puts him in line with the UniParty Swamp.

Democrats deny 2020 election fraud. RINOs deny 2020 election fraud. Otherwise decent spineless Republican lawmakers avoid the issue of 2020 election fraud. But I know it happened and I’m pretty sure many of the my readers do too.

For DeSantis, the correct answer to the question is that the 2020 election was stolen, but an acceptable answer is that he is focused on making sure the 2024 election is fair and that he wins it. By siding with The Swamp, he is doing America First patriots no favors. And maybe that’s the point. Maybe he’s fully embracing the McCain/Romney lane that allowed them to win their nominations. We’ll see how this plays out.
