Leaked texts reveal Trump's shooter was known 90 minutes before shots were fired [VIDEO]

Newly released text messages have shed new light on the timeline leading up to the assassination attempt on former President Donald Trump at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania.

According to these messages obtained by the News from New Yorkwould-be killer Thomas Matthew Crooks had alerted authorities more than 90 minutes before the shooting, contradicting officials' earlier claims.

Texts exchanged between members of the Beaver County Emergency Services Unit revealed that Crooks was aware of the presence of law enforcement as he planned his attack on the GOP candidate.

One counter-sniper texted a colleague: “Someone followed our lead and snuck in and parked next to our cars so you know.” The suspicious person turned out to be Crooks, who was seen with a rangefinder and observed looking towards the stage.

Crooks eventually climbed onto the warehouse roof of the AGR International building, where he fired shots from his AR-15.

Their photos were taken by one of the snipers and shared in a group chat. An officer suggested notifying the Secret Service about the suspicious person, and the footage was eventually relayed to the command center.

The texts reveal that authorities were aware of the suspect about 100 minutes before the shooting, not the 60 minutes previously mentioned in a congressional hearing.

This has prompted complaints from members of Trump's Secret Service, who claim they were not informed that local police were following the individual.

The shooting left Trump with a bullet grazed his ear and three rally attendees shot, including Corey Comperatore, who tragically lost his life while protecting his family. Crooks was quickly taken down by a Secret Service sniper.

Federal authorities have said Crooks had planned the shooting in advance, but his exact motive remains unclear.

The Secret Service has faced criticism after the incident, with lawmakers questioning how Crooks was able to pose a threat despite his presence. Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle resigned last week amid the resulting outcry.
