Immigration analyst Alexander Nowrasteh of the Cato Institute agrees that the authors “don't adduce much evidence” to support their warnings.

Allison and Morell are serious people and I take them at their word that they are scared, but they don't gather much evidence here, other than statements from officers who have made many previous predictions that failed to materialize and some cases that are definitely not scary. .

Morell was one of 51 former U.S. intelligence officials who called the Hunter Biden laptop story “Russian disinformation” in a 2020 letter.
