Deputies with the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department shot and wounded a suspect in Palmdale Monday night after responding to a report of an attempted break-in.
The incident happened near the intersection of 20th Street East and Avenue R.

The suspect, identified as Jason Baker, was allegedly holding two large blades and trying to break into cars.
Upon arrival, officers initially used less lethal rounds on the suspect before an involved shooting ensued.
The suspect, Jason Baker, was struck by gunfire and taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries before being medically cleared for booking.
The sheriff's department reported the suspect was “uncooperative.” No officers were injured during the shooting.
The suspect may be related to previous calls for similar disturbances, where a person was seen holding two screwdrivers, according to a sheriff's spokesman.
