In a surprising turn of events, a key committee witness on Jan. 6, Michael Fanone, offered an alarming response to former President Donald Trump’s latest indictment. The way the witness reacted could only be described as disgusting and disrespectful.
During a recent appearance on CNN, Fanone was asked to share his thoughts on the indictment. With a nonchalant attitude and an absence of basic decency, he actually celebrated the legal action taken against Trump. This explicit display of bias and disturbing enthusiasm for legal action against a former president indicates the level of partisanship and prejudice influencing the January 6 commission.
Michael Fanone says Trump’s accusation made him feel “like I did when I heard that our military had killed Osama bin Laden.” Even Laura Coates was brought back. Later adds “what I’m saying or what Republican lawmakers are saying is bullshit, you know, to spend time on cable news.” pic.twitter.com/H4b0Ahbpx3

Fanone’s outrageous response highlights the lack of objectivity that has tainted this process since its inception. It raises questions about the fairness and integrity of the committee’s proceedings, where a witness is found encouraging an accusation rather than upholding the principles of impartiality.
“Absolutely. Osama Bin Laden was a terrorist who committed a horrible act against the American people and against our republic, and I believe Donald Trump is a terrorist who committed horrible acts against the American people.” – Michael Fanone
It is disturbing to see such a blatant display of bias, especially when it comes from a key witness involved in a process that seeks to seek the truth and uphold justice. This incident only further validates the concerns raised by many conservatives who have long been skeptical of the committee’s motives.
This behavior does not bode well for the future of our political discourse. The bias shown by Fanone highlights the need for a more balanced and impartial approach to investigations of this nature. Unfortunately, this incident only confirms fears that the January 6 commission is/was more influenced by political vendettas than the rule of law. The American people deserve better than this. They deserve a fair and impartial investigation into the events of that fateful day. As the J6 lawsuits continue, one can only hope that justice will prevail, not partisanship.
