After spending months speaking on behalf of the former president, Fox News host Kayleigh McEnany asserted what specific tone it would take to take back the White House.

Alongside his “The Big Weekend Show” co-hosts, the former White House press secretary who served during the end of former President Donald Trump's administration picked up on the message of unity that has been circulating in circles conservatives
Even before Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis suspended his own bid for the presidency on Sunday, the need for Republican voters to come together had become paramount to unseat President Joe Biden.
Reacting to Trump's kind words about DeSantis' “great campaign,” McEnany leaned into the importance of maintaining what he called a “conciliatory tone” to curry favor with suburban voters.
“I think [Trump] it gets the DeSantis voter in both the primary and the general. The DeSantis voter tends to be a traditional person of conservative faith, and that naturally translates to Donald Trump,” he said as the combative primary was left behind as little more than politics.
“Where I think his challenge is both here and moving forward into a general election is to win over the Nikki Haley voter, win over the establishment voter, win over the independent voter, which is why I think this vice presidential election it's so important.” McEnany continued. “You have to elect someone to help bring this blog in because I think conservatives, the grassroots, are going to come home, show up rain or shine. You need independence. You need suburban women. You need that tone.”
After the governor's campaign was suspended on Sunday, he quickly made good on his promise to support the eventual Republican nominee, endorsing Trump as he toppled “the old Republican Guard of yesteryear, a repackaged form of warmed-up corporatism, that Nikki Haley represents “.
Among the countless reactions from conservative voices was a statement from the president during an event in Rochester, New Hampshire. “I'd like to take the time to congratulate Ron DeSantis and, of course, a wonderful person I've met, his wife Casey, for running a great campaign for president.”
Trump added: “I look forward to working with Ron and everyone else to defeat Crooked Joe Biden.”

Fox News co-host and Townhall.com political editor Guy Benson described the remarks as a “conciliatory tone” toward the need to unify against the left, as he suggested, “To beat Joe Biden , there's going to have to be unity on the right. . And it starts by treating potential allies as they leave, the way we actually just heard from Trump, which is a little out of character for him. But I think strategically makes sense”.
Washington Times opinion editor Charlie Hurt added of the hostile tone witnessed so far in the campaign: “Oh, that's politics. They can fix anything.”
