Former Arizona Republican gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake filed an appeal with the Arizona Supreme Court in her election case alleging that at least 8,000 illegible ballots were mislabeled.
The appeal, which was filed on Friday, can be read here:
On the second page of the appeal, Lake’s legal team alleges that at least 8,000 ballots were illegible and were not “duplicated or counted.”
“The printer’s investigative report into former Chief Justice McGregor’s letter (“the McGregor Report”) found that “four printers randomly printed one or a few “fit to page” ballots in the middle of printing a batch of ballots….[n]one of the technicians we spoke to was able to explain how or why that error occurred.” Appx:0281 (emphasis added)” says the resource.
“Lake’s expert testified that this ‘error’ could only stem from malware or remote access and resulted in at least 8,000 misconfigured ballots, the vast majority of which were not duplicated or counted,” he continues .
Lake announced last week that his election case was moved to another division of the appeals court.
“Well, the Arizona Court of Appeals just transferred our election case to another division of the Court of Appeals that doesn’t even cover Maricopa County,” he wrote to her. Twitter. “This appeals court covers Pima County, which means the most Marxist part of the state will hear our case.”
In accordance with AZPMthe decision to move the case is based on an Arizona law that “allows the Phoenix Court of Appeals to randomly send cases to Tucson to lighten its workload.”
Lake has vowed to take his election lawsuit all the way to the US Supreme Court if necessary.
He is also considering a run for the U.S. Senate and will reportedly announce it in the fall NBC news.
The former gubernatorial candidate has also made it clear that she is very focused on her electoral case.
“This is, I think, our best hope for reform in our elections — my case,” Lake told the television show “Just the News, No Noise” last week. “I think it’s the biggest election case. We have the truth on our side. We have a lot of evidence. Yes, we didn’t have a judge’s decision in our favor. But it takes a lot of courage to make the right decision on this case. “
Since losing to incumbent Democratic Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs, Lake has challenged the results of the 2022 election in court, arguing that thousands of Republican voters were disenfranchised on Election Day when they voted incorrectly of the machine it happened in at least 60% of polling places in Maricopa County. He also noted major problems with the signature verification process for mail-in ballots.
