In a recent segment on Fox News, Jesse Watters and Donna Bergstrom examined Minnesota Governor Tim Walz's handling of a major fraud case involving Somali fraudsters.
The case centers on a $250 million scheme involving COVID-19 relief funds, which Watters claims Walz mismanaged.

Watters criticized Walz for failing to act on the fraud. “We've known Tim Walz for less than a week, and already we've discovered that he let rioters burn cities, lied about his military service, crushed small businesses, and turned Minnesota into a child sex-change sanctuary” , Watters said. . He continued: “Tonight, we're dropping another Walz bomb as Governor Walz let a gang of politically connected Somali scammers steal a quarter of a billion dollars of your money. It was the biggest covid scam ever of American history.”
When Tim Walz let Somali crooks steal $250 million, did he do it because they accused him of racism or because they were funneling the money to Democratic campaigns? The DOJ needs to open an investigation as soon as possible. pic.twitter.com/xQGcpxWzzS

According to Watters, the scam involved a non-profit organization that received substantial funds intended to feed children. “Almost nothing was used for food. Somali scammers blew our money on real estate, cars, extravagant getaways,” Watters explained. Noting that the fraud was not only extensive, it was also poorly executed, and the scammers made numerous mistakes.” Ilhan Omar received thousands of dollars in donations from some of the scammers,” he added.
Watters accused Walz of inaction, saying, “When they cooked the books, they made up their fake client names … Walz just threw his hands in the air and said, I'm not a racist. Take what you want “. He also criticized Walz for not firing anyone involved in the fraud despite catching them red-handed.
Donna Bergstrom, who ran against Walz for lieutenant governor in 2018, supported Watters' claims. “It's surprising, isn't it?” Bergstrom said. “He takes no responsibility for it. There has been no one who has been removed or placed on administrative leave.” He added that Walz's failures went beyond this case, citing other types of fraud. “There is fraud of Medicare, child care fraud, autism support fraud,” Bergstrom said.
Watters agreed with Bergstrom's assessment of Walz's performance, saying, “Under Tim's nose, these Somali identity hackers swindled a quarter of a billion dollars. They caught them and then the they called him a racist, so he backed down and then he didn't fire anyone.”
Bergstrom concluded that Walz's pattern of behavior involves shifting blame and appeasing different audiences. “He's going to point at somebody else and blame somebody else. It fits his pattern,” he said.
