According to report by Stephen M. Lepore at Dailymail.com Pennsylvania Gov. Josh Shapiro has found himself mired in a sexual harassment scandal, putting the brakes on his position as a serious vice-presidential contender under Democratic nominee Kamala Harris .
As the election nears, Harris is looking to scrutinize potential candidates for the vice presidential post, including several swing state governors who could provide an edge to his campaign. Among these governors, Shapiro is considered a prominent figure.

However, the controversy surrounding Shapiro erupted when Pennsylvania Democrat Erin McClelland accused him of a cover-up. McClelland, who is running for state treasurer, publicly endorsed North Carolina Gov. Roy Cooper on Tuesday night, saying Harris' ideal running mate should be someone more supportive of instead of ignoring serious issues like sexual harassment.
I want a VP choice who is confident enough to be second under a woman, who is content to be VP and who doesn't undermine the president to manipulate his own election and who doesn't sweep sexual harassment under the rug. I want someone who can talk to rural voters. This is @RoyCooperNC

The charges brought against Shapiro stemmed from a settlement his office dealt with a female victim who accused his longtime ally, legislative liaison Mike Vereb, of sexual harassment in 2023.
Shapiro's questionable handling of the situation has drawn disapproval from several political figures, including Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward and Sharif Street, chairman of the Pennsylvania Democratic Party.
Despite the scandal surrounding him, Shapiro remains steadfast in his support of Harris, highlighting their shared history and commitment to the rule of law. Shapiro, who is often cited as a potential presidential candidate, has pledged to help Harris win, though he is not sure a vice-presidential post under Harris is still a possibility for him.
