During a campaign stop in Las Vegas on Saturday, Vice President Kamala Harris discovered a promise to eliminate tip taxes for service and hospitality workers.
That proposal, however, drew harsh criticism from former President Donald Trump, who accused Harris of copying one of his key policies.
To be clear, the Harris campaign has not set a policy so far and the first one they choose is TRUMP'S? https://t.co/1mVRxpWHPE

Harris made the promise while addressing a crowd in Nevada, a state known for its high concentration of tipped workers. “It is my promise to everyone here that when I am president, we will continue our fight for America's working families, including to raise the minimum wage and eliminate tip taxes for service and hospitality workers,” he said. declare Harris.
Trump, who has been advocating the same policy for months, quickly took to Truth Social to criticize Harris. “Kamala Harris, whose 'Honeymoon' period is ending and starting to get marked in the polls, just copied my NO TIP TAX policy,” Trump posted. “The difference is that she won't do it, she just wants it for political purposes! This was TRUMP's idea – she has no ideas, she can only steal from me.”
Trump first introduced the no-tax-on-tips proposal during a campaign event in Nevada in Junebefore Harris replaced Joe Biden on the Democratic ticket.

This is GREAT NEWS and will help millions of struggling families across the country.

In response, Harris dismissed Trump's claim, accusing him of serving only the interests of the wealthiest Americans. “If elected, Donald Trump intends to give tax breaks to billionaires and large corporations. He intends to cut Social Security and Medicare, and he intends to surrender our fight against the climate crisis,” Harris said.
Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, Harris' running mate, echoed similar sentiments in his speech, suggesting Trump would manipulate the economy to benefit the wealthy at the expense of the middle class. “Trump will rig the economy so that the middle class gets nothing and the rich get richer,” Walz said.
While Harris-Walz's campaign praised the no-tax tip proposal, even some supporters acknowledged the similarity to Trump's policy. “It sounds like a positive thing. I mean, it's the same thing that Trump said, right?” said Tammy Campa, an appraiser and former diver.
The Harris-Walz event, held at the University of Nevada's Thomas & Mack Center, drew about 12,000 attendees, although the upper level of the arena remained closed, leaving about 25 percent of the seats empty. The stadium has a total capacity of up to 19,500 spectators.
As usual, people at the Kamala Harris rally started marching in DROVES as soon as she took the stage 🤣
