Judiciary Committee: The world's biggest companies are colluding to censure conservatives | louder.news

-

On Wednesday, the House Judiciary Committee released a report exposing a sinister collusion between powerful corporations and social media users to censor websites, platforms and podcasts deemed guilty of disseminating unapproved speech.

According to the committee, corporate members of the World Economic Forum's Global Alliance for Responsible Media may have violated antitrust laws by destroying advertising revenue for conservative media outlets (like the Daily Wire), dissident personalities (like Joe Rogan) and companies dare to raise conservative viewpoints (such as X).

According to Congress report entitled “GARM's Damage: How the World's Biggest Brands Seek to Control Speech Online,” GARM states that “it was created to drive transparency in policies to help companies achieve 'brand safety,' or in other words, 'transparency about where ads [are] placed [to] mak[e] for sure [advertisers] do not inadvertently support certain content on social media platforms.”

Essentially, GARM members act as Orwellian-style thought police, demonizing speech they don't like and punishing alternative voices or free speech platforms by revoking their ability to generate advertising revenue.

Indeed, the power of GARM cannot be underestimated, with its members including the so-called “Big Six” advertisers. “In the advertising industry, the 'Big Six' refers to the 'largest advertising agency companies in the world,'” the congressional report explains. “Together, these companies own almost every major advertising agency.”

GARM says it is committed to “safeguarding[ing] the potential of digital media in reducing the availability and monetization of harmful online content.”

“Harmful content”, according to GARM, includes content containing “hate speech” about “gender identity”, “insensitive treatment… of debated social issues” and “misinformation”. In other words, GARM is the left's global arbiter of truth, wielding the power of the 'Big Six' advertising agencies, among other powerful entities, to intimidate and silence discourse that threatens elites.

For example, GARM directed its members to boycott Twitter (now X) shortly after Elon Musk bought the company. GARM initiative leader Rob Rakowitz denied this during a transcribed interview with the House Judiciary Committee. However, he was later shown to have lied to Congress after filings from an unnamed GARM member company explicitly stated that it had pulled ads from Twitter based on GARM's recommendations.

When conservative media such as The Daily Wire, Fox News, and Breitbart were discussed, GARM's board of directors, known as its Steer Team, “declared that they hated the ideology of these media outlets and even argued with ·place these media on GroupM's exclusion lists,” it reads. the report of the commission.

Additionally, a member of the GARM Steer team tried to pressure Spotify to censor Joe Rogan over the podcaster's stance on the COVID-19 vaccine. According to the report, Team member Steer, “asked Spotify how it could reconcile being a GARM member with its anti-disinformation stance and threatened to stop advertising on Spotify if the platform didn't take action against Joe Rogan.” .

Last week, X officially announced has partnered with GARM to censor information on the platform, even though GARM had previously taken up arms against X and X owner Elon Musk, insisting that X is committed to “free speech.”
