The Judicial Committee of the Chamber initiated an investigation Thursday into the daughter of the judge overseeing former President Donald Trump's case in New York.
The investigation was launched in response to the daughter's marketing activities for prominent Democrats, including Trump's intended opponent in 2024.

Committee Chairman Jim Jordan (R-OH) directed a letter to Loren Merchan, requesting a series of documents and communications related to his affiliation with Authentic Campaigns, a leading Democratic marketing firm known for its close association with Trump's main political opponents.

“Experts have raised substantial concerns with Judge Juan Merchan, your father, who refused to recuse himself from President Trump's case despite your work on behalf of President Trump's political adversaries and the financial benefit your firm , Authentic Campaigns Inc., could receive from the prosecution. and conviction,” Jordan stated in his correspondence.
Jordan specifically sought contracts or invoices Merchan's company had for marketing services provided to President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, now the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee, and the Democratic National Committee.
