JPMorgan Chase CEO Jamie Dimon has declared that San Francisco is currently an even worse place to live than New York City.
“San Francisco is in much worse shape than New York,” he said during an appearance Tuesday on the Fox Business Network.Mornings with Maria.”
“Any city that doesn't do a good job will lose its population,” he added.
Dimon has seen firsthand how bad things are in San Francisco because he was in town earlier in the week for the JP Morgan Healthcare Conference, which ended Thursday.
“I think every city, like every country, should think about what makes a city attractive, you know, its parks, its art, but it's definitely safety,” he continued.

Speaking of safety, several San Francisco residents told Fox News last summer that they felt the city was becoming more dangerous as the crime rate rose.
“Security in San Francisco has gotten worse,” said Andrea, a local nanny. “I've lived here all my life, it's always been a little unsafe, it's a big city, but recently it's been crazy. My mom even had her car stolen outside the house, and there's no police that he answers. It's alarming.”
“Before there was not so much crime because there was more police control. Now, you barely see them. I know it's not their fault because they're broke and there aren't many of them. But it would be nice to have that protection,” he added.
It's gotten so bad in the Bay Area that the city's left-leaning leaders proposed even more funding for the police.

“San Francisco Mayor London Breed … unveiled a two-year budget that increases funding for police and the homeless as the city tries to attract businesses to its empty downtown,” Bloomberg reported earlier of June
“The mayor's $6.85 billion general fund budget underscores San Francisco's woes as the city grapples with falling tax revenues, some of the lowest office vacancy rates in the nation and a chorus of business leaders pushing officials to take a tougher stance on outdoor drug markets.” added the dam.
“Yeah, crime is for sure,” another local, Christy, told Fox News. “I'm definitely seeing broken cars.”
“There are times I might be more concerned about going to a certain part of town at a certain time of night,” said a third local, Teri. “It's getting worse and worse, absolutely getting worse.”
“There are times when I'll say, 'yeah, maybe I'd like to stay inside for a bit' if it's later at night or it's dark where you have an underlying feeling that I'm taking a risk. It's not fun to have to think about in this,” said another local, Jeff.
San Francisco is just as bad for businesses like La Cocina Marketplace, a popular immigrant-themed eatery that was forced to close over the summer due to incessant crime.

“We've worked really hard, all the companies here, not just me, to bring more people here, to let people know about this amazing place,” explained Wafa Bahloul, an Algerian immigrant who had her own food stall in the hall, he explained to San. Chronicle of Francisco.
“But what happened outside and inside was the complete opposite. The best solution was to close the doors,” he added.
what did i mean
“Drug use, drug dealing, public defecation and urination, and littering are common sights on the sidewalks of La Cocina before opening and after closing,” according to the Chronicle.
It was so bad that “the sidewalks outside were too dangerous and unpleasant to attract people to dine at night, meaning that cooks were almost entirely dependent on a lunchtime crowd in a city with many workers still working from home.”
The only saving grace was that La Cocina paid $275,000 a year in security to keep the streets mostly clean during operating hours. But that was more than a quarter of a million dollars that the establishment simply could not afford.
