Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) continues to tick off Democrats, announcing that he will skip the Democratic National Convention this week to spend time with his children.
Leftists, however, claim it is because of their strong support for Israel, as thousands of pro-Hamas protesters descend on Chicago to make clear to Democrats their hatred of the Jewish state.

“John Fetterman is skipping this week's Democratic National Convention in Chicago, and to hear it from him, taping photos of Israeli hostages to his office walls in the Senate. Or attack fellow Democrats Rashida Tlaib and Ilhan Omar for falsely blaming a Gaza hospital attack on Israel ('It is truly disturbing that members of Congress are rushing to blame Israel for the hospital tragedy. . Who would take the word of a group that just massacred innocent Israeli civilians?') Or comparing the pro-Hamas camp in Columbia to a neo-Nazi demonstration (“Add some tiki torches and it's Charlottesville for them Jewish students,” he tweeted)” The Free Press informed
“Nor is it 'Fetterman Alumni for Peace,' a group of former Fetterman campaign staffers, publicly chiding their old boss: 'It's not too late to change your position and get on the right side of history,'” the outlet added. .
Fetterman has three children who are out of school for four days. He claims that he wants to spend time with them and believes that this is more important than a political talk. And he doesn't seem to care if he would be welcome in Chicago or not. The decision to renounce the convention was made long ago by the senator.
The Pennsylvania Democrat has been a staunch supporter of Israel and has taken a strong stand for them since Hamas attacked the Jewish state on Oct. 7, 2023, killing 1,200 civilians and kidnapping hundreds more. His stomach turned at the rape and torture of innocent Israelis and others that day.
Fetterman is skipping the DNC. His completely normal position on the defense of Israel has completely isolated him from his party.

“I strongly condemn these cowardly, horrific and unprovoked attacks on Israel by Hamas. Attacking innocent civilians is particularly despicable and reflects the cowardly behavior of this terrorist group. I stand unequivocally with the people of Israel now and always,” he said Fetterman after the attack.
Once a darling of Democrats and Hollywood, Fetterman is now a pariah because he supports Israel and not the Palestinians and the terrorist group Hamas. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has called him a potboiler, and other Democrats say they no longer recognize him.
He has had to endure protests and threats from left-wing radicals who have attacked his home and workplace.
Even some of his current employees seem to have turned against him.
I think it's important to note that she started working for Senator Fetterman as recently as the spring of 2024, when her views on Israel were already well known. If she didn't agree with him, she shouldn't have accepted a position where her only job is to publicly defend her views. https://t.co/FlPcfKKLAq

“I don't agree with him” on Israel and Gaza, Carrie Adams, Fetterman's communications director, told The Free Press in a telephone interview.
“I have a feeling that his international views are much less nuanced than those of my generation, because when he was growing up, he might be right, and for my generation and the younger ones who, of course, are the protesting, they have a much more nuanced view of the region,” Adams said.
Fetterman doesn't seem fazed by the radical elegance that young leftists seem to cling to now, declaring themselves pro-Hamas and anti-Israel. Many are aggressively anti-Semitic.
“I have been frustrated by some of my members and how they have chosen to handle this situation,” Fetterman said of the Democrats' position on Israel's war against Hamas. “I don't agree with a lot of his views, but whatever kind of political choices or whatever kind of political cost he's incurred during all of this, I don't care.”
“I haven't even regretted any of it,” he emphasized.
