Joe Biden inflames racial tensions, repeats more lies about US election in Selma

President Joe Biden, who has done it he lied repeatedly about his civil rights legacy, fact extensive racially charged commentsand has supervised a mark increasing racial division in the United States since his days in the Obama White House, made a speech Sunday in Selma, Ala., where he repeated they debunked the talking points that election integrity laws threaten “voting rights.”

There are no laws in the United States that prevent an American citizen from voting because of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual preference, or religion.

But on the 58th anniversary of “bloody sunday,” Joe Biden continued to act as if America had made no progress since the 1960s, when Jim Crow laws implemented by Southern Democrats, racially discriminated against black Americans with voter suppression measures such as literacy tests and poll taxes.

“As I come here in commemoration, not for spectacle, Selma is a count,” Biden said. “The right to vote, the right to vote, to have your vote counted is the threshold of democracy and freedom. With him, everything is possible without him. Without that, nothing is possible.”

“And that fundamental right continues to be under assault,” he lied. “We must remain vigilant. In January, I signed the Electoral Counting Reform Act to protect the will of the people and the peaceful transfer of power. But we know we need to get the votes in Congress to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Promotion Act and the Freedom to Vote Act.”

“I made it clear that I will not let a filibuster filibuster the sacred right to vote, the right of every other right to vote from there,” he continued. “And that’s why we follow the world, like all of you, the words of Dr. King, he said, give us the ballot. We will put justices on the bench who will do justice, led by Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson, and more black women appointed to the federal appeals court than any other president in history. We’re about to do it.”

Nonpartisan research on voter integrity laws shows they have no measurable impact on voter registration or turnout. A milestone report by The Heritage Foundation in 2007 found that voter ID laws do not reduce voter turnout, even among African Americans and Hispanics. These voters were just as likely to vote in states that require photo ID as in those that do not. Researchers from the National Bureau of Economic Research Found that between 2008 and 2016, voter ID laws “had no negative effect on registration or turnout, overall or for any specific group defined by race, gender, age, or party affiliation” .

In October 2022, a federal judge booted Georgia election denier Stacey Abrams for failing to prove her incendiary claims of voter suppression in court. Constitutional lawyer Jonathan Turley made legal comments on the ruling.

“Remember the law President Biden called for”Jim Crow on steroids? An Obama-appointed judge just upheld the law in a challenge brought by a group affiliated with Stacey Abrams after finding no constitutional violations.” Turley wrote.

“Judge Jones found that while “the burden on voters is relatively low.” . . . the plaintiffs have not provided direct evidence of a voter who was unable to vote, who experienced longer wait times, that he was confused about his voter registration status,” Turley added.

This is the real the assault on US elections, as well as the deterioration of voting integrity measures, such as restrictions on mass absentee ballots and litigation against voter ID laws.
