The “J6” committee has failed to turn over numerous documents to the House record related to the security failures that led to the Capitol riots. The now-defunct House Democratic committee refused to index the documents, omitted records related to the Jan. 6 security failures, neglected to include depositions from private witnesses, and deleted communications with the White House from Biden, according to the Republican majority of the House.
Under Democratic leadership, the “J6” committee included just two GOP “Never Trump” members. He did not allow Donald Trump or his legal team to defend themselves. It wasn’t so much an “investigation” as a kangaroo court with a predetermined narrative to vilify Donald Trump, blame him for the events of January 6, and recommend an indictment to the Justice Department.
Now, there is another black mark on the record of the J6 committee which indicates that their entire modus operandi was political in nature. That committee, as Rep. Barry Loudermilk (R-GA), chairman of the House Administration Committee’s Oversight Subcommittee told Fox News Digital, has not shown evidence of its investigation into Capitol security lapses Hill on the day of the riots. .
“Part of our job as an oversight subcommittee is to address security failures, look at how it happened … how these people were able to get into the Capitol,” Loudermilk said. He said the documents they obtained arrived in boxes and were completely disorganized.
“Nothing is indexed. There was no index to the table of contents. Normally when you do this level of research, you use a database system and everything is digitized, indexed. We don’t have anything like that. We just got raw data,” he said. “So it took us a long time to get through it and one thing I started to realize is that we don’t have anything from the blue team.”
Further complications arose when a defense attorney approached Loudermilk, seeking private video deposition data. To the surprise of the lawyer and Loudermilk, the committee did not have the videos in question.
“We have a lot of depositions, we have a lot of subpoenas, we have videos and other documents provided through subpoenas by people. But we’re not seeing anything from the Blue Team in terms of reporting on the investigation they did into the actual breach,” he said.
“What we also realized we didn’t have were the videos of all the statements,” Loudermilk added.
According to the Republican lawmaker, the committee also failed to preserve crucial communications between the J6 committee and the Biden White House. Likewise, interviews were conducted with subjects whose identities were not revealed to the public.
In recent news, former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund appeared on Tucker Carlson’s show and his previously unaired guest hit was seen by the public for the first time last week.
“It all seems to be a cover-up,” Sund said. Like I said, I’m not a conspiracy theorist, but when you look at the information and the intelligence that they had, that the military had, it all gets diluted. I don’t get intelligence, I’m denied any support from the National Guard in advance. I’m being denied by the National Guard while we’re under attack, for 71 minutes,” Sund added.
Former Capitol Police Chief Steven Sund warned Congress six times about the high risk of imminent attacks on the capitol building before the Jan. 6 “insurgency.” Sund also said that he notified the U.S. military five times of the danger, but that his requests for increased security were ignored. Sund issued a scathing resignation letter to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi over the Jan. 6 security debacle.
