Migrants from terrorism-linked Tajikistan have reportedly been showing up at the US southern border left and right.
In fact, the number of illegal aliens from Tajikistan arriving at the border has “increased” since President Joe Biden, a rabid Democrat, took office in early 2021, according to the New York Post.
This is a major problem because Tajikistan is an “ISIS recruiting hotbed.” However, more than 1,500 Tajiks crossed the border between October 2020 and May 2024, 500 this year alone.
Now contrast that with previous data: “During the previous 14 years there were only 26 Tajik nationals who crossed the border,” the Post notes.

What's unclear is how many of the Tajiks who crossed the border were later released into the U.S. interior, but most foreigners are known to apply for asylum and then wait for a hearing.
Returning to Tajikistan, it borders Afghanistan and has become a hotbed of Islamic terror from both ISIS and the Islamic State Khorasan Province (ISIS-K), an extremist offshoot.
Javed Ali, a former counterterrorism official who reportedly now teaches at the University of Michigan, told the Post that the influx of Tajik nationals could be part of an ISIS operation that is “seeding people in the U.S. ” in preparation for an attack.
In fact, it was only a week or so ago that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) conducted a multi-city sting that netted eight Tajik nationals with direct links to ISIS.
According to reports, the operation included the wiretapping of a person who was allegedly discussing bombs.
“Over the past few days, ICE agents detained several non-citizens pursuant to immigration authorities,” a joint statement from the FBI and ICE said. The actions were carried out in close coordination with the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Forces.
“The individuals arrested are being held in ICE custody pending removal proceedings… The FBI and DHS will continue to work 24 hours a day with our partners to identify, investigate and disrupt potential threats to national security,” he continues.
The threat from ISIS-K is particularly stark. It's the same terrorist group that killed 145 people during a terrorist attack on a Moscow concert hall a couple of months back in March.

To make matters worse, experts who spoke to the Post said ISIS and its affiliates are trying to use Tajiks to carry out terrorist attacks abroad.
“Tajiks have been recruited and played a key role in terrorist organizations like the Islamic State to a greater degree than many neighboring countries in recent years,” Texas A&M University professor Edward Lemon told the Post.
“They have become key [ISIS-K]The campaign focused on the outside, as it seeks to capture attention and more recruits. Hard-line counter-extremism policies [by the Tajikistan government may be] causing the same terrorism they intend to deal with,” he added.
Lemon went on to warn that many Tajiks live outside Tajikistan and rely on “trafficking networks” to enter the US illegally.
“Tajikistan is one of the most migration-dependent countries in the world, with more than a million of the country's 10 million people living in Russia,” he said. “As life in Russia has become more difficult since the invasion of Ukraine, they have looked to other destinations such as Europe, the Gulf and the US. Most come here, like so many others, in search of a better life” .
All of this comes days after the Biden administration “sanctioned four individuals based in Central Asia and Turkey who are allegedly involved in an ISIS-linked smuggling operation to help migrants reach the US,” according to the Post.
“One of the men sanctioned is the commander of ISIS-Georgia province, Adam Khamirzaev, who 'provided guidance to this network on a range of activities in support of ISIS and was aware of its efforts to facilitate travelers to the States United'”, the Post. notes
Meanwhile, ISIS is working quickly to dramatically expand its recruitment drive.
“One of the things they've actively and deliberately done is try to expand their recruits geographically,” Colin Clarke, director of research at The Soufan Group, told the Post. “So not just Afghans and Pakistanis, but they want to bring in a big Central Asian component.”
“Also, they want to reach the diaspora, meaning Central Asians who live in Europe, who live in North America, in an attempt to radicalize them, because for ISIS K, it's low-hanging fruit,” has added
