Just a few months ago, the news was flooded with story after story of trains derailing here in the US
It got to the point where many started coming up with some pretty conspiracy theories to explain this ongoing series of train crashes, and a new arrest of a man in Ohio will only fan the flames of the discussion.
Earlier this month, the FBI arrested Joseph Findley, 43, on federal terrorism charges for allegedly jamming metal onto railroad tracks and lines in order to derail those trains.
CSX train employees found metallic materials stuck on tracks and rail switches on an Ohio train line for months after a near-catastrophic derailment in August, according to court documents.
During a one-day CSX Employee Appreciation Day test, a train hit an obstruction on the track and temporarily derailed before the wheels went back into place.
The seemingly mysterious accident quickly became a worrisome issue when employees continued to find more “purposefully placed” materials along the tracks, matching methods taught by international terrorist groups to make homemade derailment devices , court documents say.
The investigation led to Cleveland man Joseph Findley, 43, who was arrested and charged with terrorist attacks against rail carriers.
Findley lives with his parents, who could not be reached by Fox News Digital. His mother told Fox 8, however, that her son is not a terrorist.
“He’s never been a bad boy, never, he’s always been good. He’s not a terrorist, someone’s making that up,” his mother told local media, who asked what would explain his alleged actions.
“Being depressed, because she lost her job, she lost her girlfriend, but she never did anything like that,” he said. “They’re crazy, he’s not a terrorist. I think they all overplayed it because he never did anything wrong.”
The Amtrak train along that line typically carries 180 to 200 passengers twice a day, according to court documents.
This is certainly an interesting development and one that will no doubt have a lot of people talking, especially those who are already suspicious of our government and the intelligence community.
