A famous Peruvian gang leader, Gianfranco Torres-Navarro, suspected of 23 murders in his native country, was arrested Wednesday in Endicott, New York, by US immigration authorities.
Torres-Navarro, who leads the criminal organization known as “Los Killers”, is wanted in Peru for 23 murders, according to the US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

ICE announced Thursday that Torres-Navarro, 38, was arrested about 90 miles northwest of New York City and is currently being held at a federal detention center near Buffalo, pending of an immigration hearing.

Torres-Navarro entered the US illegally on May 16 through the Texas-Mexico border, where he was detained and notified to appear for immigration proceedings.
However, it wasn't until July 8, when ICE received information about his criminal record in Peru, that they moved to arrest him.
“Gianfranco Torres-Navarro represents a significant threat to our communities, and we will not allow New York to be a safe haven for dangerous non-citizens,” said Thomas Brophy, director of enforcement enforcement operations. 'ICE Buffalo Field Office.
Along with Torres-Navarro, ICE also detained his girlfriend, Mishelle Sol Ivanna Ortíz Ubillús, described by Peruvian authorities as his right-hand accomplice. She is being held at a processing facility in Pennsylvania. Peruvian justice had issued an international arrest warrant for Torres-Navarro and Ortiz-Ubillús on July 3.
Torres-Navarro is believed to be the leader of “Los Killers de Ventanilla y Callao,” a criminal organization known for using violence to eliminate rivals and extort construction companies.

He allegedly fled Peru after being implicated in the March killing of retired police officer Cesar Quegua Herrera at a restaurant in San Miguel.
Peruvian authorities reported that six members of “Los Killers,” formed in 2022 near Peru's main port, were arrested in June during a series of raids.
They are accused of various crimes, including murder, contract killing and extortion. Before leading “Los Killers”, Torres-Navarro was associated with another criminal group, Los Malditos de Angamos.
Known by the alias “Gianfranco 23”, a reference to the number of his alleged victims, Torres-Navarro is an important figure in the criminal underworld of Peru.
His girlfriend, Ortiz Ubillús, not only played a prominent role in the gang, but also flaunted her extravagant lifestyle on TikTok, showing off designer clothes, luxury vacations and visits to shooting ranges.
