'I don't want to hear this shit': Furious Biden blasts House Dems in 'complete disaster' meeting

During a series of calls to lawmakers on Capitol Hill, President Joe Biden had a “tense” meeting with centrist House members.

Members of the New Democratic Coalition said lawmakers were “really appalled” by Biden during Saturday's Zoom call, according to a source who participated in the virtual meeting.

“He had no answers to questions about his eligibility. He seemed oblivious to the poll showing him losing swing states. He didn't want to hear it. . . . He didn't try to reassure anyone. He didn't take responsibility.” a source said axesadding that it is “probably” likely after the call that a statement is “under consideration” to call on Biden to end his re-election bid.

“This was a complete disaster. We saw Joe Biden himself from the debate,” a House Democrat on the call told Axios.

“It was horrible,” said another.

In response to questions from Rep. Marc Veasey (D-TX) about his strategy to salvage his campaign and win back voters, the president said it's up to lawmakers to tout his administration's accomplishments. But the most heated moments came in a back-and-forth with Rep. Jason Crow (D-CO) who raised voters' concerns.

“The members didn't hold back … it got tense with Crow, for sure,” a source said axes.

“National security is an important issue in this campaign. Americans want a commander in chief who can project strength, vigor and inspire confidence at home and abroad. They need to feel that you're at the helm when they go to sleep every night,” Crow said, according to a transcript obtained by the hill.

“Despite your many successes and the dangers of Trump, we are seeing overwhelming evidence in our districts that many voters are losing confidence that you can do it in a second term. It's not fair, but it's true,” he added.

“This Zoom group has run some of the toughest races in the country and many of us know that without a major change we face a loss in November,” Crow continued. “The status quo will not work. Focusing only on Trump will not work. Focusing on our accomplishments will not work. What major change are you proposing to your campaign?”

According to sources, Biden began “yelling” at Crow's question and demanded that he “call me a foreign leader who thinks I'm not the most effective leader.”

“Tell me who the hell it is,” the president continued, saying he's “really sick” and declaring, “I don't want to hear that shit.”

“He started calling Jason Crow for no reason,” noted a member of the New Democrat Coalition.

The exchange ended with Biden saying, “If you really get information, I'm not strong enough and I'd like to know more details because I want to deal with it.”

Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA) followed the exchange with Crow, but struggled to complete her question as Biden interrupted her. He then hung up as he announced that he had to go to mass.

“The president held calls with lawmakers from his beach house in Rehoboth, Del. The Mass he attended in Rehoboth was at 5:30 p.m. and he left home at 5:36 p.m. to attend” , The Hill reported.

Rep. Mike Quigley (D-IL), “was visibly unhappy that he didn't get to ask a question,” according to one member. The Illinois lawmaker is one of 19 House Democrats who have publicly called for Biden to step down.

Before the Zoom call with the New Democrats, the president had held a meeting with the Congressional Progressive Caucus. That call had been without the tension of the subsequent meeting, with Biden teasing a “major” Supreme Court reform policy, according to sources.

The New Democrat Coalition chairman called the meeting with Biden “respectful” despite his shouts at Crow.

Rep. Ann McLane Kuster (D-NH), said she “had a frank, respectful and productive conversation with the president about how to win over disaffected voters and increase turnout in swing districts.”

“As majority makers, we are united in our goal of taking back the House and asked the president to focus on the future and reassure voters about the Democrats' ability to win in November,” Kuster said in a statement. according to The Hill.

“Moving forward, we expect President Biden to do everything in his power to show the American people that Democrats will keep the White House and turn the House around in November,” he added.
