Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker has sent a spiteful letter to Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, asking him to stop sending illegal aliens to Chicago.
The letter begins with Pritzker talking trash and accusing Abbott of sending illegal alien migrants to Chicago “to score political points.”
He then proceeds to post a sob story about the illegal alien migrants who are now stuck in the blistering cold of Chicago, a self-identified country. sanctuary city.
“Now you are sending asylum seekers from Texas to the Upper Midwest in the dead of winter, many without coats, without shoes to protect them from the snow, to a city whose shelters are already full of migrants you have sent here,” the letter says. .
“Temperatures in Chicago this weekend are forecast to drop below freezing. Your cruelty, sending buses and planes full of migrants in this weather, now endangers the lives of all arrivals. The health and survival of hundreds of children and families are at risk because of your actions,” he continues.

In the next paragraph, Pritzker talks trash again, accusing Abbott of playing a “political game of exploiting the most vulnerable for the sake of culture wars and talking points.”
“You seem to have no interest in working on bipartisan solutions to the border crisis because they would end your cruel political game,” the letter continues.
Then the governor of Illinois proceeds once again to issue a sob story and literally beg Abbott, whom he has already insulted several times in the letter, to stop sending illegals to Chicago.
“I am writing to you today hoping to appeal to your humanity. Over the next few days, Illinois will experience a dangerous winter storm and sub-zero temperatures. I strongly urge you to stop sending people to Illinois in these conditions,” he says the letter.
“I ask you for mercy for the thousands of people who cannot speak for themselves. Please, while winter threatens the lives of vulnerable people, suspend your transports and do not send more people to our state”, he concludes.
The letter also contains some quip about the need for Congress to “vote on bipartisan immigration reform,” a term that typically denotes amnesty without any significant border security.
In response to the letter via social media platform X, critics slammed Pritzker for directing all his anger and fury at the wrong person.
Look at:
@GovPritzker you should urge @POTUS to close the border
— Jay Aaron (@japar70) January 14, 2024
@GovPritzker she should call her friend joe, the friend she loves, and complain to him!!
— NancyLew (@nancylew13) January 12, 2024
well @GovPritzker the answer is simple, tell biden to close and secure the border, why is it so hard?
— joe george (@joegeorge148870) January 14, 2024
Here's an idea @GovPritzker, tell Biden to close the border and enforce illegal immigration laws. problem solved

Maybe JB should send a letter to the federal policy maker that allows and attracts so many illegal migrants. The border cup is run over.
— Tom DeVaux (@TomVaux12) January 12, 2024
Perhaps a letter to the president asking for a closed and secure border might be helpful, since all of these issues stem from illegal border crossings that are essentially being facilitated and encouraged by current policies.

Sounds like a letter to score political points to me…with whom? We have yet to see. We are still a sanctuary state in some ways, but JB wants it to be in name only. Does it say anything about the Biden administration about it? No.

Abbott's camp also responded by issuing a statement to the Chicago Sun-Times asking Pritzker to present his grievances to the “big boy.”
“Instead of complaining about migrants being sent from Texas, where we are also preparing to experience severe winter weather across the state, Governor Pritzker should be asking his party leader to finally do his job and ensure the border, which he continues to refuse to do.” Abbott's spokesman said.
“Until President Biden does his job to secure the border, Texas will continue to transport migrants to sanctuary cities to help our local partners respond to this Biden-instigated crisis,” he added.
As previously reported, Abbott and other border state governors and law-and-order mayors, including some Democrats, have sent illegal alien migrants north to self-identified sanctuary cities.
The purpose of these operations has been to reduce the burden experienced by the states and border towns, while giving a touch of caution to the governors and mayors of the northern blue cities who have taken the crisis for granted.
The ultimate goal has been to inspire President Joe Biden to finally secure the border, but he has flatly refused, choosing instead to play his own “cruel political game”…
