Husband kills wife, son-in-law and in-laws in Alameda, CA quadruple murder [VIDEOS]

A California man is in custody after shooting his wife, 6-year-old son and his wife's parents, the Alameda Police Department confirmed Thursday.

Alameda Police Chief Nishant Joshi said at a news conference that a second child, a 1-year-old, was also shot and is currently in critical condition.

The incident occurred at a residence on Kitty Hawk Road in the city of Alameda around 9 p.m. Wednesday, prompting a neighbor to call 911. The suspect's father-in-law, who had having been shot, he sought help at a neighbor's residence before dying. .

The police found the other family members dead inside the home, the alleged site of the shooting.

The suspect, Shane Killian, was arrested on suspicion of murder and attempted murder, according to department spokeswoman Sarah Henry. Killian did not resist arrest.

Authorities have not released a motive for the crime, but have said several firearms were recovered from the home.

Police maintained there is no current threat to the public and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
