Hunter Biden spoke defiantly from outside the Capitol on Wednesday, sidestepping his planned House Oversight Committee statement while criticizing so-called right-wing extremists MAGA.
In what appears to be a move out of sheer desperation, the first son delivered his politically charged rant in DC, accusing Republicans of lying about him and his father. He claimed that the Tories have tried to destroy his family.
“I'm here today to recognize that I have made mistakes in my life,” he declared accompanied by his attorney and representative Eric Swalwell (D-CA), “but I am also here today to correct how the MAGA Right has represented me for their political purposes.”
“Let me be as clear as possible: My father was not involved financially in my business, not as a practicing lawyer. Not as a member of the board of Burisma, not in my association with a private Chinese businessman , not my investment or abroad, and certainly not as an artist,” he said.

“They belittled my recovery and tried to dehumanize me in order to embarrass my father, who has dedicated his entire life to public service,” the president's son said. “For six years I've been the target of Trump's relentless strike team. 'Where's Hunter?' Well, here's my answer. I'm here.”
Hunter Biden's public outing comes as conservatives move forward with an impeachment inquiry vote against President Biden over his involvement in foreign business dealings.
“Hunter Biden had agreed to appear for public testimony, but House Republicans wanted him to meet with them privately first. His refusal to sit for this private deposition is a possible vote of contempt by the House led by GOP”, Washington Examiner reported
Hunter Biden was cited by the committee as a party the pending impeachment investigation against the president. He is seen as a key witness in the investigation into alleged corruption and abuse of power by Joe Biden while he was vice president.

“The investigation is looking at three main things, all related to Hunter Biden: whether Joe Biden improperly used his position of power to enrich himself and his family, whether he used his influence to pressure the Department of Justice to help his son avoid criminal charges and how he was involved in his family's foreign business,” the Washington Examiner noted.
“Hunter Biden faces federal tax evasion charges, as well as a separate weapons charge by special counsel David Weiss,” the outlet added. “House Republicans are also focusing on an allegation raised in an FBI fact sheet that says Joe Biden, along with his son, took bribes from Burisma, a Ukrainian energy company which Hunter Biden was a board member, to pressure the Ukrainian government to fire a prosecutor.”
Republican House leaders didn't know if Hunter Biden showed up for deposition until Wednesday morning, the same day the vote on the impeachment inquiry will take place.
“The younger Biden had offered to appear publicly for a congressional hearing, but had declined to testify privately, arguing it could lead to selective leaks. Rep. James Comer (R-KY), who chairs the House Oversight Committee, insisted that the first child appear first for the closed-door deposition, in which the committee's lawyers can ask detailed probing questions that build the facts of the case,” Washington said. the examiner wrote.

The first son criticized Comer and Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH), the chairman of the Judiciary Committee, during his big press conference. He claimed his father was “not financially involved” with his businesses.
“There is no evidence to support that my father was financially involved in my business because it didn't happen,” Hunter Biden said.
“Republicans have lied over and over again all aspects of my personal and professional life” said Hunter Biden. “So much so, that too many people believe the false facts.”
“They took the light of my father's love for me and presented it as darkness. They have no shame,” he said.
Hunter Biden remarked that House Republicans have “engaged in unprecedented political interference.”
Hunter Biden claims his father was “not involved” in his foreign businesses.

“But here I am, Mr. President, accepting your offer… I have chosen,” he continued. “I'm here to testify in a public hearing today to answer any of the committee's legitimate questions.”
Hunter Biden added: “Republicans don't want an open process where the American people can see their tactics, expose their baseless research or hear what I have to say.”
He went on to call Republicans to a fight: “What are they afraid of? I'm here, I'm ready.“
