How the House can help Bannon and Navarro escape the contempt trap set by Pelosi

Steve Bannon is one of the key leaders of the conservative populist movement. For this reason, it was an early target of the “Select” Committee of the Chamber without the law of January 6.

As you probably know, A federal judge has ordered Steve to report to prison on July 1, 2024 to begin serving a four-month sentence.. That would put him out of commission for virtually the entire remaining period between now and the presidential election on November 5, 2024.

The J6 Committee targeted Steve in an attempt to silence his powerful voice on his daily Internet TV show/podcast war roomwhich reaches tens of thousands of committed patriots every day and where he strongly argues for the re-election of President Trump.

While Steve is known to be one of President Trump's longest-serving and most influential advisers, the J6 Committee refused to credit the assertion of executive privilege advanced to the Committee on behalf of Steve as communicated to him by President Trump and their lawyers.

Steve and others caught in the maelstrom of J6 Committee machinations, more designed to cover up January 6th than to clarify why that riot happened. despite President Trump's authorization to use the National Guard to protect the Capitol that day, they have long said the J6 Committee was created in violation of general procedural law established by the full House of Representatives at the start of the 117th Congress.

At Citizens for Renewing America we've looked into Steve's claims, as well as claims to the same effect from another of President Trump's advisers. Peter K. Navarro (who is already in prison) — and we agree that the J6 Committee operated outside the parameters of the law. The flaws of the J6 Committee are legion. But the main ones are that the Committee was made up of too few members, did not allow Republicans to select their 5 members from the Committee of 13, and did not function with a ranking minority member or minority counsel.

For these reasons, we ask that you call your member of the House of Representatives and ask them to move forward without delay on the following two points:

1) Direct the Attorney General of the Chamber, through the Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group (“BLAG”), to present a friend filings or motions with federal court to support Steve's efforts to avoid prison or, in Peter's case, to be released from prison immediately; I

2) Schedule a full House vote on the attached draft House resolution condemning the J6 Committee, further explaining the flawed subpoenas issued to Steve and Peter, and outlining the Committee's full list of illegal conduct at every point ..

No free citizen of the United States should support the unjust and unconstitutional government weaponry which has been focused like a laser beam Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro.

The Speaker of the House and lawmakers can act now to help end this grave injustice. We ask that you help us move the House and the Speaker to take the necessary steps to correct these serious mistakes.
