House Republicans have finally released articles of impeachment against Secretary of National Security Alejandro Mayorkas.
Filed by MP Mark Green, the first article accuses Mayorkoas of showing a “willful and systemic refusal to comply with the law”, while the second alleges that he breached the public trust by “knowingly and knowingly making false statements , obstructed the law. oversight of the Department of Homeland Security.”

“During his tenure as Secretary of Homeland Security, Alejandro N. Mayorkas has repeatedly violated laws enacted by Congress regarding immigration and border security,” the first article said. “Largely because of their illegal conduct, millions of aliens have entered the United States illegally each year and many remain in the United States illegally.”
“Their refusal to obey the law is not only a crime against the separation of powers in the United States Constitution, it also threatens our national security,” the article continues.
“Alejandro N. Mayorkas knowingly made false statements to Congress that the border is 'secure', that the border is 'no less secure than before', that the border is 'closed' and that DHS has 'operational control' of the border,” says the second article.
In a statement, Green said the articles “lay out a clear, compelling and irrefutable case for the impeachment of Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.”
“He has willfully and systematically refused to comply with immigration laws enacted by Congress,” the statement continued. “He has violated the public trust by making knowingly false statements to Congress and the American people, and by obstructing congressional oversight of his department. These facts are indisputable, and the results of his illegal behavior have been disastrous for in our country”.

Green (not to be confused with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene) is chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee.
His articles of impeachment were filed Saturday, a day after House Speaker Mike Johnson told his caucus he plans to hold a vote on whether to impeach Mayorkas “as soon as possible.”
“When we return next week, out of necessity, the House Homeland Security Committee will move forward with the articles of impeachment against Secretary Mayorkas. A floor vote will then take place as soon as possible,” he wrote in a “Dear Colleague” letter, according to the New York Post.
Johnson criticized both Mayorkas and President Biden for not doing anything about the southern border crisis.
“The facts show that President Biden and his Homeland Security Secretary Mayorkas have willfully ignored and actively undermined our nation's immigration laws,” he wrote. “Instead of accepting responsibility, President Biden is now trying to blame Congress for what he himself intentionally created.”
Biden's Department of Homeland Security, which has so far failed to fully secure the border, was not happy about all of this.
In a memo, the department accused Republican impeachment efforts of being part of a “cynical and hypocritical process” that was “premeditated from the beginning.”

“This marking is more than the same political games played by Republicans on the House Homeland Security Committee (CHS),” DHS said. “They don't want to fix the problem; they want to campaign there. That is why they have undermined efforts to achieve bipartisan solutions and have ignored the facts, jurists and experts, and even the Constitution itself in their quest to baselessly impeach Secretary Mayorkas.
Congressional Democrats have also begun talking trash on Mayorkoas' behalf.
“What is clearly missing from these articles is any actual accusation or even a shred of evidence of felonies or misdemeanors, the constitutional standard for impeachment,” Rep. Bennie Thompson said in a statement.
“This should come as no surprise because the Republicans' so-called 'investigation' of Secretary Mayorkas has been a remarkably fact-free affair. They are abusing the impeachment power of Congress to appease their MAGA members, score political points, and divert the “Americans' attention from their Congress that does nothing,” he added.
Meanwhile, millions of illegal alien migrants have actually been allowed to cross the border since President Biden took office and put Mayorkas in charge.
And all Democrats have offered so far is a lackluster bill that would allow 150,000 entries of illegal alien migrants a month:
I don't see Republicans going for it. This allows for 150,000 crossings per month, 1.8 million per year, as a baseline before the entry of expulsion authority. This has increased massively during the Trump and Obama years. However, speeding up the asylum process would be positive and the… https://t.co/n2fYcWDZMH
