House Republican skeptical that Biden played key role in Hamas hostage swap

-

A House Republican expressed skepticism that President Joe Biden was the difference-maker in Friday’s release of hostages taken during the Hamas terror organization’s murderous attack on Israel last month.

On Friday, the octogenarian Democrat touted his role in securing a ceasefire in Gaza along with the release of 24 hostages in exchange for more than three dozen Palestinian prisoners held in Israeli jails. But with no Americans included among those released, Rep. Pat Fallon (R-Texas) rejected the idea that Biden had much influence.

The Texas Republican appeared on Friday’s edition of “Cavuto: Coast to Coast” on Fox Business after Biden’s boast about his key role, noting that the lack of American hostages suggests the politician from storyteller’s career is full of malarkey.

“Congressman, President Biden is taking credit for facilitating some of this hostage release. First, does he deserve that much credit? And second, how much of that is due to the military pressure that Israel put on Hamas did he need a break from this?” Fallon was asked by Fox Business host Edward Lawrence.

“I think it’s absolutely because Israel put so much pressure that Hamas was willing to take a break. And of course they also got 150 Palestinian prisoners from Israel. So they got it and they got the break they needed,” he answered the congressman, who is part of the House Armed Services Committee.

“Biden, you know what they say, even small successes like this have a thousand parents and defeat an orphan. If Joe Biden was so crucial, why isn’t any American being released right now? I think this is very revealing,” Fallon added.

“As of this morning, under an agreement reached by extensive American diplomacy, including numerous calls I have made from the Oval Office to leaders throughout the region, fighting in Gaza will cease for four days,” Biden boasted during his remarks to the media. delivered from the exclusive island of Nantucket, where he spends the holiday weekend holed up at his billionaire friend’s house. 39 million dollars property.

Fallon isn’t the only one unimpressed by Biden’s alleged influence on the exchange.

“We don’t know when that’s going to happen, but we’re going to be, we’re hoping it’s going to happen. And we don’t know what the list of all the hostages is and when they’re going to be released, but we know the numbers that are going to be released. So it’s my hope and expectation that be soon,” Biden said when asked by a reporter when the American hostages would be released, admitting he didn’t even know if they were alive.

“We don’t know all their conditions,” he added.
