Congressman Matt Gaetz, who led an insurgency within the Republican Party to change the presidency from Kevin McCarthy to anyone else (preferably Donald Trump) received an “offer he can’t refuse” on Thursday.
Vote to change the caucus threshold to remove the president.
His counteroffer, made by Democratic Congressman Ro Khanna of California, is simply stunning.
“The American people are frustrated and exhausted with corruption and the role of big money in the halls of Congress,” Khanna said. “That’s why I’m presenting a five-point plan. First, ban all PAC and lobbyist money from congressional campaigns. I’m not taking a dime of it.”
“Second, completely ban stock trading and members of Congress from becoming lobbyists,” he continued. “Activists like Unusual Whales, Quiver, Quantitative and Crew leaders have mobilized for this third term limits for members of Congress.”
“Fourth, term limits for Supreme Court judges, and fifth and Code of Ethics for Supreme Court judges,” he continued.
“This is common sense,” he added. “The people demand it, it’s time to return them to their government and reform Washington. We should have bipartisan support for this five-point plan. “
Matt Gaetz completely agrees, Unusual Whales reports.
JUST IN: Matt Gaetz said he will change the motion to drop the threshold IF Congress passes Rep. Ro Khanna’s reform plan that:
– prohibits the negotiation of congressional actions
– prohibits Congress from lobbying
– Term limit of 12 years
– ban lobbying/PAC donations

“JUST BEGINNING: Matt Gaetz said he will change motion to leave threshold IF Congress passes Rep. Ro Khanna’s reform plan that: – bans congressional stock trading – bans congressional lobbying – 12-year term limits – prohibits donations from lobbyists/PACs,” unusual. Wales, noting that Khanna mentioned the reform activist in his speech.
Matt Gaetz, as he moved to vacate the chair for Kevin McCarthy, drew loud boos when he exposed members of Congress’ affinity for lobbyist and special interest money.
‘Boo all you want!’

There are certainly plenty of politicians in Washington DC booing reforms like those supported by Ro Khanna and supported by Matt Gaetz.
But if these reforms were ever to come through, it could be the first time in a long time that politicians in Washington DC actually did something worth applauding.
