Hollywood writers strike: Writers Guild of America fails to reach deal with studios

The Writers Guild of America West and East voted in favor of the strike after failing to reach an agreement with the major studios over the past six weeks.

“Although our Bargaining Committee began this process with the intention of making a fair deal, the studios’ responses have been wholly inadequate given the existential crisis facing writers,” the Writers’ Union tweeted. ‘America West Monday night. “Picketing will begin tomorrow afternoon,” the account added.
