Failed Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton is “thrilled” with Kamala Harris' presidency and weighed in on the current vice president in a New York Times essay.
The former first lady and secretary of state applauded Harris, the presumptive Democratic nominee after President Joe Biden resigned from his position leading the election. He also warned her of potential sexist attacks from “MAGA mouths” as she spoke about the historic moment.
“Mr. Biden has done something difficult and rare,” Clinton he wrotecalling his decision to end his re-election bid “as pure an act of patriotism as I have ever seen in my life.”
“As someone who shared that dream and had to make peace with letting it go, I know it wasn't easy. But it was the right thing to do,” he lamented, hinting at his own 2016 failure while praising the “clarity moral” of the president.
“Elections talk about the future. That's why I'm excited about Vice President Kamala Harris. She represents a new beginning for American politics. It can offer a hopeful and unifying vision. She's talented, she's experienced, and she's ready to be president,” Clinton wrote. “And I know she can defeat Donald Trump.”
It is a trap to believe that progress is impossible.
The contest between Harris and Trump is a choice between old grievances and new solutions.

Bringing up the same tired talking points, he went on to label former President Donald Trump as “a convicted criminal who only cares about himself and is trying to turn back the clock on our rights and our country.” Meanwhile, Harris was touted as “a smart former prosecutor and successful vice president.”
“It's old grievances versus new solutions,” Clinton added without any sense of irony.
“Ms. Harris' record and character will be distorted and belittled by a deluge of misinformation and the kind of ugly prejudice we're already hearing from MAGA spokespeople. She and the campaign will have to turn down the noise, and all of us, as voters, we need to be thoughtful about what we read, believe and share,” Clinton stated.
“I know a thing or two about how difficult it can be for strong women candidates to fight the sexism and double standards of American politics. I've been called a witch, a 'nasty woman' and much worse. Even I was burned in effigy. As a candidate, I sometimes avoided talking about making history. I wasn't sure the voters were ready for that,” she lamented.
Continuing her pity party, Clinton shared that she “still hurts that I couldn't break through the highest, toughest glass ceiling,” though she noted that Harris “will face unique additional challenges as the first black woman and the South Asia”.
“Mrs. Harris is chronically underrated, like so many women in politics, but she is well prepared for this moment,” Clinton said.
“The time for wringing hands is over,” he concluded. “Now it's time to organize, mobilize and win.”
Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, quickly joined the Harris bandwagon, announcing their support for her after Biden made his decision public.

“We join millions of Americans in thanking President Biden for all he has accomplished, standing up for America time and time again, with his North Star always being what's best for the country,” they said in a joint statement. “We are honored to join the president in supporting Vice President Harris and will do everything we can to support her.”
This came shortly after reports that the Clintons were firmly on Biden's side and offering to help in any way they could.
