Hamas terrorists appear to have used weapons from North Korea during a ruthless attack on Israel

There is evidence to suggest that Hamas militants may have used weaponry of North Korean origin during their aggressive assault on Israel.

The study, along with the examination of other evidence such as a video of militants and weapons seized by Israel, suggests that the perpetrators of the assault on Israel on October 7 were likely equipped with weapons of northern origin. Korean and affiliated with Hamas, a terrorist organization. The Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK) has repeatedly denied allegations that it is involved in arms trade with terrorist organizations.

One of the debated weapons used by Hamas is the F-7 rocket-propelled grenade. This particular weapon is designed to be thrown from the shoulder and is commonly used by combatants to target armored vehicles. The authenticity of a film showing the use of F-7 rocket launchers by Hamas militants has been verified after a thorough examination by two North Korean weapons and intelligence specialists South Korean military. The Associated Press also conducted a study of weaponry seized from the battlefield.

These rocket launchers possess the ability to discharge a solitary warhead and display a rapid reload mechanism, making them highly advantageous weaponry for less formidable militias and guerrilla factions fighting against heavily armored vehicles.

“It’s not a surprise to see North Korean weapons with Hamas,” said Matt Schroeder, senior researcher at the Small Arms Survey.

Jenzen-Jones referred to images of weapons used by Hamas affiliates.

“North Korea has long supported Palestinian militant groups, and North Korean weapons have previously been documented among the prohibited supplies,” Jenzen-Jones told the AP.

Russia uses comparable weaponry, and North Korea’s F-7 bears striking similarities to the Soviet-era RPG-7 rocket-propelled grenade. However, there are noticeable differences, such as the presence of a conspicuous red band adorning the warhead of the North Korean variant.

According to Schroeder, Hamas has released visual documentation showing its training activities, where fighters can be shown with a weapon carrying a rocket-propelled grenade along with various design features such as those found on the F- 7, including a red stripe.
