GOP Senators Admit Biden Walking Circles Around Them, Won’t Attack Him Because He’s A ‘Nice Guy’

Republican senators are acknowledging that they’re struggling to land attacks on 78-year-old gaffe-prone Joe Biden as they head into the midterms next year.

Several GOP senators told The Hill on Saturday that they’re losing ground against Biden’s radical left-wing agenda to transform America, and part of that reason is because Biden is “affable” and a “first-rate person.”

“I don’t think we’ve done a very good job because he’s getting away with defining himself and rolling out this stuff that we’re borrowing every penny for it, and the public is buying it,” Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) said. “We’ve got to find ways to articulate and scuffle in a better way, and I don’t know that we’ve found that.”

No. 2 Senate Republican John Thune (S.D.) admitted that many of his colleagues actually like Biden, which makes is more difficult to define him as a radical.

“His tone is moderate and he’s an affable person, he’s a likeable individual and a lot of us know him, have relationships with him and it’s probably harder to attack somebody who is relatable and likeable,” Thune said.

“Moderate” tone? Biden has repeatedly characterized the Georgia voter ID law as “Jim Crow 2.0”.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (K.y.) even said he and Biden “have been friends for a long time”, and Sen. John Cornyn (Texas) called him a “nice person.”

From The Hill:

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.), in a recent stop in Kentucky, accused Biden of leading a “left-wing administration” but added that he was a “first-rate person.”

“I like him personally, I mean, we’ve been friends for a long time,” McConnell said.

GOP senators say Biden’s “nice guy” reputation and moderate tone have helped insulate him politically.

“I think right now he’s in a little bit of a honeymoon period because he seems like a nice guy, which he is. But people think just because you’re a nice guy you’re sort of a moderate person, and he’s not governing like a moderate,” said Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas).

“It’s always harder to fight against a nice person because usually people will sort of give him the benefit of the doubt,” he added.

In less than 100 days occupying the White House, Biden has created the biggest immigration crisis in U.S. history, destroyed thousands of U.S. jobs, caved to China on the world stage, stoked racial tensions, and vowed to curtail the Second Amendment.

But to Republican leadership, Biden is just a “nice guy” and a “first-rate person.”

For clarity, Biden has frequently ridiculed voters over the years, calling one man “fat” and a “liar”, and another auto worker “full of shit” for accusing him of wanting to restrict the Second Amendment.

Not to mention Republicans still can’t land effective attacks against Biden despite his daily dementia-ridden gaffes, faux pas, and outright PR disasters.

This is why the Republicans always lose, why Democrats have been gaining ground at light speed, and ultimately, why Donald Trump is not in the White House.
