Scaring sympathy ahead of congressional testimony, Hunter Biden offered a bold claim about the connection between his sobriety and “the future of democracy.”
The constant defense of the corporate media and the alliance of fellow “sugar brother” Hollywood lawyer Kevin Morris had evidently not been enough to sell the narrative of victimhood of President Joe Biden's son amid the investigations ongoing Congress on alleged criminal bribery.
As such, a rare new interview with the first son conducted by Alex Thompson of Axios was released on Monday, further painting former President Donald Trump as a villain.
“Maybe it's the ultimate test for a recovering addict, I don't know,” Biden expressed. “I've always been in awe of people who have stayed clean and sober through tragedies and obstacles that few people have ever faced. They are my heroes, my inspiration.”
He proceeded to magnify the implications of his addiction as he stated, “I have something much bigger at stake than even myself. We are in the middle of a fight for the future of democracy.”
MSNBC further cemented that sympathizing with the younger Biden was part of the “Democracy is at stake” crowd's pearl-clutching by bringing Thompson on “Morning Joe” Monday to explain the discussion.
“It's really an extraordinary story of resolve,” National Political Correspondent told co-host Mika Brzezinski. “Think about this: Hunter Biden was in a spiral of crack cocaine addiction, alcohol addiction — he basically got sober the day before Joe Biden's first 2019 campaign launch.”

“Since then, he's essentially been completely sober,” Thompson said carefully.
“There's a view within some of Biden's circle that basically any day Hunter is in the headlines is a bad day for Joe Biden,” the correspondent added.
To that end, NBC News had reported in November 2022 that, before the GOP took control of the House of Representatives for the 118th Congress, “three new 'war cabins' have emerged in the past two weeks to combat Republicans of the House. ' investigations, each backed by multibillion-dollar dark money budgets and some of the Democratic Party's best-known operatives.”
Correct founder David Brock, who left Media Matters to start the war room called Facts First USA, had said at the time: “I think that, absent a vigorous operation like the one we're doing, I think it's difficult to President Biden is re-elected.”

Adding to the appeal for bleeding hearts, Biden had told Thompson during the interview, “Most importantly, you have to believe you're worth the work, or you'll never be able to get sober. But I often think about the profound consequences of failure here.”
Meanwhile, the release of the exclusive about Biden's memoir and his marriage to Melissa Cohen coincided with the first child's scheduled behind-closed-doors testimony Wednesday before the House Oversight and Accountability Committee and the House Committee on Judicial Power of the Chamber. .
In previewing it, Ohio Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan offered a brief, if lengthy, summary of a “tale as old as time” of the allegations against the Biden family.
“A government official takes action. That action benefits the family. And then, when questions are asked, there's a cover-up. For President Joe Biden, it's a story about money, influence and protecting the brand of the Biden family,” the congressman began before concluding, “The question is: Will the American people let the Bidens get away with it.”

It was expected that it would be difficult to gain the sympathy of those willing to see responsibility.

I'd like to know what his definition of “democracy” is, because if it's the kind his father wants, we're screwed.
It has absolutely nothing to do with what our ancestors had in mind.— MCFSRN- (@MaryShadeRN) February 26, 2024
When the press and elites refer to “our democracy,” it is important to consider the word “our” and who is the “we” it implies. For them, that “we” is a very small club… and ordinary citizens, like you and me, are not members.
