As soon as the courts reopened after a judge awarded them nearly $150 million, two Georgia election workers filed a new lawsuit against former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani.
On Friday, a Washington, DC jury ordered Giuliani to pay Ruby Freeman and her daughter Wandrea “Shaye” Moss a combined sum of more than $148 million after he was found liable in August for defamation, civil conspiracy and distress emotional about the claims made about the integrity of the 2020 presidential election in the Peach State.
While the mayor had promised to appeal and challenged The integrity of the process used in the defamation case, the mother-daughter duo returned to the United States District Court for the District of Columbia on Monday to file an injunction against Giuliani.
“Defendant Giuliani continues to spread the same lies for which he has already been held responsible,” the court document stated, citing as an example remarks made by the defendant at a Dec. 11 press conference.
The file quoted the mayor as saying that “the next witness would definitely make it clear what i said was truthand that, whatever happened to them, which is unfortunate that other people overreact.everything i said about them is true.' When asked if he regretted his actions, defendant Giuliani stated, “Of course I don't regret it… I told the truth. They dedicated themselves to changing votes.” Finally, when a reporter pointed out that “there was no evidence,” the defendant Giuliani said, “You're right there is… Stay tuned.'”

“Defendant Giuliani's statements, along with his refusal to agree to refrain from further making these statements, make it clear that he intends to persist in his campaign of targeted smear and harassment. It must stop.” , argued the presentation.
“Under these unique circumstances,” the lawsuit stated, “the appropriate remedy is a selective injunction to prevent Defendant Giuliani from continuing to repeat the same falsehoods about Plaintiffs that have already been found to be conclusively defamatory.” “.
In addition to the legal fees and the requirement that Giuliani “make or publish, or cause to be made or published, additional statements repeating any false claim” about “fraud, illegal activity or misconduct,” Freeman and Moss requested “So other additional measures that this Court considers fair and appropriate”.
Giuliani's political adviser Ted Goodman told the press: “I'm not going to comment on any potential legal matters, but I will say this: The Rudy Giuliani you see today is the same man who took down the mob, cleaned up New York. City, lifted hundreds of thousands of people out of poverty and comforted the nation and the world after the terrorist attacks of 9/11.”
Asked for comment by reporters at his West Palm Beach golf club, former President Donald Trump said: “I think it's very sad what happened to Rudy. He's a great patriot. He's the greatest mayor of New York history. I think it's a very, very unfair situation.”
