Hollywood actor and director George Clooney has written an op-ed in the News from New York, expressing his admiration for Joe Biden but suggesting that Biden should resign as the Democratic presidential nominee. Fox News' Peter Doocy reported on this development, highlighting Clooney's reasoning and its potential impact.
Peter Doocy explained the situation: “And this is extraordinary. Just a few minutes ago, George Clooney published an op-ed in the New York Times. I'm going to read a line. He says: “I love Joe Biden as a senator, as a vice president and as a president. I consider him a friend. I believe in him, I believe in his character, I believe in his morals.”

“I love Joe Biden as a senator, vice president, and as president … but he keeps saying he thinks they need a new presidential candidate.”

Despite this admiration, Clooney believes change is needed. “But he keeps saying he thinks they need a new presidential candidate,” Doocy continued. That sentiment comes after a recent debate performance that left Clooney questioning Biden's ability to energize the party and the nation.
Doocy also reminded viewers of Biden's recent efforts to shore up support among influential Democrats. “Remember, just a couple of weeks ago, President Biden came back from Europe to go to Los Angeles for a fundraiser hosted by George Clooney where Barack Obama was also there. Bill Clinton was there,” Doocy noted.
Clooney's call for a new top of the ticket is expected to resonate loudly in both the White House and Wilmington. “George Clooney is now saying that, after watching the debate, he wants a new top of the ticket. That's going to bite here in the White House and also in Wilmington,” Doocy concluded.
