Frank Luntz Says Trump 'Should Win' But 'Gives This Election Away'

Pollster Frank Luntz said Monday that former President Donald Trump is “giving away” an election that should be won in November.

Harris drive Trump by a 50% to 46% margin among likely voters in Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin, seconds to a set of New York Times/Siena College polls released Saturday. Luntz, on “Squawk Box,” said “The issues and the conditions favor Donald Trump,” but he is committing “political suicide” with his rhetoric.

“There are problems, attributes and conditions of the country. The issues and conditions favor Donald Trump. He should win this election, but the attributes are so much in Harris' favor that he's not,” Luntz said.

“The best example, you made history in the [United Auto Workers] — Why is Donald Trump publicly saying, 'I want to fire' the very people he's getting now, still getting, union members?” Luntz asked. “It's ridiculous. It's like he's out of control. And I know there There are billionaires who watch this show, who spend a lot of money on Donald Trump, and they don't understand why a politician is killing himself.”

The UAW brought Federal labor charges against Trump and billionaire Elon Musk on Tuesday for allegedly “attempting to intimidate and threaten workers” during their Monday interview.

A “Squawk Box” co-host asked if there was anything Trump could do to solve his “problems,” and Luntz said yes.

“So there are three issues. Number one is affordability. We should never call it inflation again. It's housing, health care, food and fuel. And the people who need Trump can't afford it every week or every month,” he added. “Second, Washington spending, which you don't talk about anywhere. This has been an issue for the last eight years. Hardworking taxpayers hate to see their money wasted. And third, it's not just immigration. It's safety and security. “

Luntz mentioned The New York Post's reports on the cost of the immigration crisis in New York City. The outlet found that the city has likely spent more than $5 billion on migrant services.

“People will look at it and say, 'Damn!' Or even worse. Trump should be winning,” he said.

“Now he is talking about the theft of the elections. This is a line of [New Hampshire] Gov. Chris Sununu: “You can't steal what you've given away.” He's actually giving this election away, and we're going to look back today, and I'm going to post this and say, 'You've been warned,'” Luntz said.
