Fox News' Brian Kilmeade said Thursday that race is not a “winnable issue” for Republican nominee Donald Trump ahead of the 2024 election.
trump assisted a question-and-answer session at the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) 2024 Conference in Chicago, Illinois, on Wednesday, where he was accused of making racist comments about Vice President Kamala Harris when she said she didn't realize that she was black . Kilmeade said Trump does not focus on race and gender and was only attacking Harris because she is his political opponent.
“I also don't think it's a winning issue to talk about Kamala Harris — Indian, black, it doesn't matter. She's just running against a Democrat. I think the thing is, President Trump is ignorant of race and gender. A lot of people are like, 'Wow, you don't talk to women like that.” You don't talk to minorities like that.' He said, 'I'm running against this person.' That's all he sees. And we all know that,” Kilmeade said.
“Not people who know him personally or people who have been in public who have seen him in public for the last 8 years. Kilmeade said the “hostile environment” naturally angered Trump and caught him by surprise.
Trump sat down for the interview with Harris Faulkner of Fox News, Rachel Scott of ABC News and Kadia Goba of Semafor, where the former president came in particular. under the fire to say he didn't know the sitting vice president was a black woman.
