Fox News host says it's “amazing to hear” Harris steal economic ideas from Trump

The rebooted version of Kamala Harris has shown that the Democratic nominee is not only a chameleon but also a thief, freely taking ideas from former President Donald J. Trump and using them as her own.

Harris' big rollout of his economic policies took place on Friday, and his speech in Raleigh, North Carolina, was covered by Fox News with anchors Bret Baier and Gillian Turner breaking it down for viewers on the conservative network .

“It was a progressive tone, and what we saw today from the vice president is not only a stark political contrast to the plans laid out by former President Trump, but a stark view of a very different economic reality and a just reality in general”. Turner said, criticizing the speech.

“He was careful to point out today that he sees the supply chain issues that began to plague this country during COVID-19 are largely, if not completely, resolved. He said that everything is better now,” he said. to add “Two days ago, we heard the former president talk about how he sees them worse than ever.”

“Yeah, there's also a disconnect, when he talks about former President Trump's plans to raise taxes, that's not what he's talking about,” Baier responded. “He's talking about tariffs on other countries and their products coming here so that the US can be successful. I need to give credit to the vice president and the administration, for the negotiation of pharmacy and drug prices.”

“But again, there's this dance of walking away from Bidenomics, creating her own vision, and yet embracing some of the positives that she wants to claim as the strongest economy in the world. So I think we're going to see a lot of that in Chicago next week,” he added, referring to the Democratic National Convention where Harris will be crowned.

Baier also pointed to Harris' proposal to impose what amounts to price controls, which have only brought economic misery to other countries when implemented.

“Other countries have tried it. It didn't work. So how it's implemented, again, to Jason Furman's point, you have to go through Congress and it may not be realistic,” he said, referring to the economist of Obama breaking his “price gouging” ban.

“The other thing, it's interesting to hear the vice president talk about reducing bureaucracy and cutting regulations. I mean, this, again, is taking former President Trump's speech, and it's hard to imagine that the person who in 2019 wanted to ban fracking and ban plastic straws will now be the champion of cutting red tape and cutting regulations,” he added, noting that Harris is taking Trump's ideas and presenting them as his own.

During his big speech, Harris also borrowed from Republicans by pledging to “cut taxes” for tens of millions of Americans in the form of expanded tax credits, including the child tax credit, days after the candidate in the GOP vice presidency, Sen. JD Vance (R-Ohio) supported it.

“Finally, there's one more way to help families cope with rising costs, and that's by letting you keep more of your hard-earned money,” he said. “Under my plan, more than 100 million Americans will get a tax cut, and we'll do it by restoring two tax cuts designed to help middle-class and working Americans: the Income Tax Credit Earned Income and Child Tax Credit”.

“Millions of Americans with children are getting to keep more of their hard-earned income,” the veep added. “We know this works and has a direct impact on many issues, including child poverty. We know it works. So, as president, I'm not only going to restore this tax cut, I'm going to expand it. We're going to provide $6,000 in tax relief to families during the first year of a child's life”.

Trump and others have compared Harris' proposals, which she didn't steal from him, to communism.
