Former investment banker Carol Roth blasted Vice President Kamala Harris on Monday evening as another “puppet,” saying Americans “literally cannot afford” four more years of economic policies similar to those of President Joe Biden.
Roth appeared on Fox Business' “The Evening Edit” as he discussed the messages the Republican Party needs to put out to address how the Biden-Harris administration has hurt Americans' wallets. In response to a question from Fox host Elizabeth MacDonald about Harris' economic policy stance, Roth claimed the Democratic Party was changing. Harris by Biden as another “puppet” before pointing out that economic policies “will remain the same.”
“Does it take a unique amount of denial to want four more years of what we've been through? No policies on Kamala's website, no Democratic primary voters, zero interviews. The last time she gave an interview at the press conference It was eight months ago. What do you think?” MacDonald asked.
“It's like believing in a magical unicorn, and I think David is right when he says the messaging needs to be fine-tuned and we need to relate what's happened over the last three and a half years under the Biden-Harris administration and say, ” Look, we know that Joe Biden hasn't run the country in all that time. There is some puppeteer. Now they have changed the puppet but the policies are still the same. So were you better off when you had pre-Covid under Trump or post-Covid under Biden-Harris?” Roth replied.
WATCH:
An August survey performed The Financial Times and the University of Michigan showed that Harris now slightly leads former President Donald Trump on one measure of Americans' confidence in who he can handle the economy, although nearly half of respondents still believe the Biden's administration “hurt the economy” with its policies. However, 42% of voters still believe the economy would be better off under another Trump administration, and 38% of voters say the economy would be “worse” if Harris wins.
“Because now you're going to have the same policies and so on. We just saw a poll today, 59% of Americans believe we're in a recession, and that's because mainstream Americans are having a personal recession. They have more debt. They can't save. Why would they want to vote for another four years of this? That message needs to come out loud and clear,” Roth continued. “Americans literally cannot afford four more years of the same policies.”
Affirm released a poll in late July showing that of 2,000 people, three in five believe the US is currently in a recession, even though none has been declared.
