In the early morning hours of October 9, an apparent dispute between Kevhani Camilla Hicks, 27, and his manager turned deadly in the Wynwood neighborhood of Miami, Florida. Footage obtained by NBC 6 showed the rapper, who goes by the stage name Key Vhani, who he allegedly got into an argument with, was pulled over and then shot at two men around 1:30 a.m.

As detailed by the outlet, Hicks could be seen getting out of a white vehicle before another man, said to be her manager, also got out of the vehicle to confront her on the street at trunk side Within a minute, after the trunk was opened, the confrontation turned physical and a second man could be seen getting out of the car to join the melee.

Ultimately, the overpowered suspect appeared to be briefly pinned to the ground, then crashed to the ground, before all parties regained their feet and separated from each other. However, as the two men returned to the car and the woman headed in the other direction, she suddenly turned, pulled a firearm from her purse and opened fire on the manager.

Uncensored clips of the footage circulating online clearly showed the man who had fled to find cover behind a nearby SUV crawling as the suspect gave chase and continued to fire at him. Moments later, as she lay helplessly in the street, the armed woman was hit by the car, driven by the second man who had fled in the driver’s seat after shots were fired.

An erratic turn sent the suspect down and potentially under the fleeing vehicle, after which he was seen running in the opposite direction, leaving the manager fatally injured in the street.

NBC 6 reported that officers responded to a nearby ShotSpotter alert and found the man in the street and Hicks nearby suffering from blunt force injuries. The manager later died from his injuries.

“The defendant stated that he was afraid because of the size of the victim and when he heard her scream ‘I’m going to kill you in one shot,'” the police report states.

After she was arrested and booked, a bond hearing set her release on house arrest at $50,000, as her public defender insisted it was a “clear case of self-defense.”

Hicks took the same stance on social media when she posted a message on Monday that read: “Good morning to all my followers and fans! I’m finally home after going through something so traumatic and life changing. I have 3 broken ribs and bruises all over so I’m currently healing and resting.I just want to personally thank everyone who supports me and knows I’m not the horrible person some say I am.I can’t comment on the case not at all, but I pray that you all continue to stand by me and support me in this tragic time. I love you all to the moon and back!”

Meanwhile, a crowdfunding page had been set up seeking $60,000 to support him. Since it was created on October 26th, the page has only raised $315 for this goal at the time of this post.
