Upon meeting the tactical team, Valdez opted to barricade himself inside, prompting a lengthy negotiation effort.

“Seeing us, the suspect decided to barricade himself inside the house,” said Deputy Director Niemczyk, detailing the tense encounter.

Despite crisis negotiators' attempts to convince Valdez to surrender peacefully for three hours, the suspect remained uncooperative, choosing not to engage verbally but indicating his presence when asked.

With Valdez's mother and sister evacuating the premises to help law enforcement resolve the standoff, officers turned to innovative tactics, including deploying robots equipped with cameras and gas to extract Valdez from his hiding place.

Ultimately, as the night wore on, the SWAT team made the decision to enter the property, leading to the discovery of Valdez hiding under a mattress in a front bedroom.

The arrest was made without resistance, resulting in his arrest.

Throughout the ordeal, Valdez remained silent toward authorities, leaving the exact charges surrounding his alleged possession of child pornography shrouded in uncertainty.

However, law enforcement authorities have said that Valdez will face, at a minimum, charges of possession of illicit material with minors.
