Sometimes politicians just need to be honest with their constituents and state directly what is on their agenda.
And Rep. Ilhan Omar did just that as she was heard in a speech captured on video speaking to those in Somalia, the country she was born and fled to when she came to the United States with her family as refugees.
The Minnesota Democrat spoke about Somaliland to an audience, reportedly at a Minneapolis hotel, while expressing his loyalty to them and his homeland.
The video posted on X has translated subtitles that have not been verified. However, Omar responded in comments to the post after it sparked a backlash and did not appear to challenge its authenticity.
The video was released by Ambassador Rhoda J. Elmi, the deputy minister of foreign affairs for Somalia's breakaway region, Somaliland, which has not been recognized internationally.
We were deeply shocked, even shocked to discover the statements of Congresswoman Ilhan Omar (D) of Minnesota in a recent public forum, widely circulated on most social media platforms and attached below for your reference .

Omar vowed to continue representing the interests of Somali Americans and said “the US will do what we want and nothing else.”
“There are areas of friction and this led us to kill each other, but in reality we are an organized society, brothers and sisters, people of the same blood, people who know that they are Somalis first, Muslims later, that they protect each other to others , help each other and also help other Muslims,” the Muslim lawmaker and far-left member of the Squad allegedly said.
“The US would not dare support anyone against Somalia to steal our land or our oceans. Sleep comfortably, knowing that I am here to protect Somalia's interests from within the US system. The woman you sent in Congress works day and night to protect your interests. She knows your situation and Somalia's. I am as concerned about Somalia as you are. Together, we will protect Somalia's interests,” he added.
Referring to the “ethnic Somalis”, he declared that their “land cannot be divided” and promised to “liberate the occupied territories stolen from Somalia”.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene was one of many to express outrage at Omar's remarks.
Terrorist sympathizer Ilhan Omar in her own words: Somali first. The Second Muslim He never talks about America.
She brags about using her position as a congressman to protect the Somali border while our border is overrun by MILLIONS of illegals who are a danger to America.

Many online agreed and called for Omar's removal from Congress.
How can he be allowed to continue serving in Congress while saying things like this?! pic.twitter.com/7xyAtdUyZm

This is the same woman who will tell you that American politicians who say their top priority is putting America first are threats to democracy.
The Democratic Party is full of anti-Americans
If Ilhan wants to put Somlia first, he should go back and run for office…

She is breaking the oath of allegiance she took to become a citizen. @HouseGOP she should be expelled, her citizenship should be revoked and she should be deported. He just admitted that he works for Somalia from Congress. pic.twitter.com/2tog4V1ulE

Omar responded to the controversy in comments to X.
“It's not just slanted, it's completely off, but I wouldn't expect more from these propagandists,” he wrote.
It's not just slanted, it's completely off, but I wouldn't expect more from these propagandists. I pray for them and for their sanity. No nation state can survive if its states begin to engage in land lease negotiations with other countries without the consent of the federal government… https://t.co/bmdEAN6aUH

“Somalis in Somalia and the diaspora are united in this effort and I stand in solidarity with them,” he added. “No amount of bullying and lies will ever change that.”
