As the 2020 presidential election draws to a close, speculation has already begun about the 2024 election. On Tuesday, Jill Biden, wife of Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden, revealed that her husband will decide whether or not to run for president in 2024 after the election results are in.
In an interview with ABC News, Mrs. Biden said that she and her husband have not discussed the possibility of a 2024 run yet, but she believes that he will make the decision when the time comes.
“We haven’t talked about it. We’ve been so focused on this election,” she said. “And I think, you know, once the election is over, then we’ll sit down and talk about it.”
Mrs. Biden also said that she and her husband are committed to the 2020 election and that they are not thinking about the future yet.
“Right now, we’re focused on this election. And we’re focused on winning this election. And that’s where our focus is,” she said.
Joe Biden has yet to make any public statements about a possible 2024 run, but Mrs. Biden’s comments suggest that he is open to the possibility.
The former vice president has not ruled out a 2024 run, and he has previously said that he will “make up his mind” after the 2020 election.
If Biden decides to run in 2024, he would be 78 years old at the time of the election. However, Mrs. Biden said that her husband is still “in good health” and that she has “no doubt” that he would be up to the task.
“He’s healthy. He’s in good health. He’s strong. And I have no doubt that he would be up to the task,” she said.
Only time will tell if Joe Biden decides to run for president in 2024. For now, though, the Biden family is focused on the 2020 election and on making sure that Joe Biden becomes the next president of the United States.
